Romero -- Moises S. Romero, a resident of Albuquerque, passed away on January 23, 2000. He is survived by his wife, Mary; daughters, Sophie and husband, Robert, Virginia and husband, Ronnie, and Pauline; sons, Moises Jr., and Marty and wife, Mary; also surviving is sister, Lucianita Mejia; 16 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. Moises received the Purple Heart during World War II and was a member of the Disabled American Veterans, Post #3; he had a great sense of humor, was an excellent auto mechanic, and enjoyed restoring antique vehicles and raising his cattle. He was an active member of Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church. Pallbearers will be Moises Romero Jr., Marty Romero, Robert Archibeque, Ronnie Herrera, Ronald Herrera, and Moises Herrera. Visitation will be Wednesday, January 26, 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., at the Alameda Chapel. A Rosary will be held at 6:30 p.m. in the chapel. Mass will be at 9:00 a.m., Thursday, January 27. Interment will follow at the Santa Fe National Cemetery. Arrangements are entrusted to Alameda Mortuary, 9420 4th St. NW, Gary Santillanes C.F.S.P.
