West -- Eudora M. West, 69, a resident of Belen, peacefully passed away on Monday, July 10, 2000. She was a member of Our Lady of Belen Catholic Church and was a member of the Catholic Daughters of America Chapter 1357. Eudora was a Master Grower, working at El Cid Nursery in Tome for many years, and later working for Bob Dugan Nursery of Belen as a Grower and Manager up until the present. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Delno in 1994; and her parents, Toribio and Adelina Chavez. Eudora is survived by her two loving children, Marie Smrt and her husband, Rick of Belen and Gary and his fiancee, Brenda Hurbina, both of Albuquerque; two grandchildren, Richard Smrt Jr. and Erica, both of Belen; her two sisters, Flora Tafoya and her husband, Herman of Belen, Corine Tafoya and her husband, Ernest of Belen; two brothers, Fermin George Chavez and his wife, Sally and Robert Lee Chavez and his wife, Virginia, all of Tome. Eudora is also survived by her many loving nieces and nephews. A viewing will be held on Tuesday, from 5:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., at Romero Funeral Home followed by a Rosary at 6:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, 9:00 a.m., at Our Lady of Belen Catholic Church. She will be laid to rest next to her beloved husband, Delno in the Terrace Grove Cemetery following the Funeral Mass. Pallbearers will be Richard Smrt Jr., Jerome R. Chavez, Clarence L. Chavez, James Tafoya, Eddie Aramburo, and Bob Dugan. Romero Funeral Home, 609 N. Main St., Belen, NM.
