Angevine -- William O. Angevine, born May 31, 1923, died July 5, 2000. He was preceded in death by his wife of 53 years, Beatrice; his parents; and three sisters. Bill was from Poughkeepsie, New York and is survived by three sons, Clark W. Angevine and William T. Angevine, both from the Poughkeepsie area and Kevin G. Angevine from Cedar Crest, NM. He was loved by his daughters-in-law and grandchildren, and will also be missed by the residents of Bear Canyon Retirement Estates. Informal services will be held Thursday, July 13, 2000 at Christ Community Church, 1317 San Pedro St. NE, Albuquerque, NM. In lieu of flowers, the family feels"Pop" would have very much appreciated a donation to the National Rifle Association, 11250 Waples Mill Road, Fairfax, VA 22030.

Brown -- Clarissa Anne Brown, 5, went to be with the Lord on Friday, July 7, 2000. Cutshall -- Nicholas"Nick" Cutshall, 38, a resident of Albuquerque since 1962, died Wednesday, July 5, 2000. He is survived by his parents, Jack and Karen Cutshall; brother, Jimmy Cutshall and wife, Mary, all of Albuquerque; nephews, Davy and Anthony Jaramillo; nieces, Loretta Jaramillo and Lyndayle Mattis; grandmother, Lois V. Cutshall of Highland, IN; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and other family members. Music was his greatest love. He composed and performed his own music. Garner -- Agnes Jackson Garner, 82, a resident of Albuquerque, died Saturday, July 8, 2000. She is survived by her husband of 56 years, A.J. Garner, Jr. of Albuquerque; son, Jack Garner and wife, Lynn Johnson of Golden, CO; daughter, Betty Garner of Ada, OK; granddaughter, Sara Schlundt and husband, Joe of Houston, TX; grandson, Travis Garner of Ft. Collins, CO; sister, Hannah Mae White of Tucson, AZ; beloved nieces and nephews; and dear friends, Ken & Nancy Bishop of Bosque Farms, NM. Mrs. Garner was preceded in death by her son, Edward Byrch Garner; brothers, Bill, Edward, Joe and Bernard Jackson; and sister, Mary Ellen Jackson. Agnes was born in Cimarron, NM on June 6, 1918 and attended school in Cimarron. She attended New Mexico State and received a degree in Biology. Agnes married A.J. Garner in 1944. Mrs. Garner taught school in Carrizozo and Cimarron. The Garners moved to Riverton, WY in 1947 on the G.I. Homestead Bill. They returned to NM in 1954 and she taught in the Santa Fe schools until 1975. At that time Mr. & Mrs. Garner moved to East Africa for 2 years where they lived in Nakuru, Kenya. In 1977 they moved Silver City, NM where she taught until her retirement in 1979. They moved to Albuquerque in the late 80's. After her retirement, they enjoyed traveling and were active in the Forest Service Amigos and in their family. They spent their winters in Albuquerque and their summers in the Brazos where they enjoyed the outdoors. Services will be held Thursday, July 13, 2000, 10:00 a.m., at French MortuaryťLomas Blvd. Chapel, 10500 Lomas Blvd. NE, with Pastor Rick Donaho officiating. Interment will take place at Santa Fe National Cemetery at 1:00 p.m. Pallbearers will be Joe Jackson, Mike Jackson, Tom Jackson, Ken Bishop, Travis Garner and Joe Schlundt. Hook -- Marian S. Hooks, 87, a resident of Albuquerque since 1962, died Friday, July 7, 2000. She is survived by her son, Kenneth R. Hooks and wife, Sally of Rockville, MD; daughter-in-law, Dorothy H. Hooks of Albuquerque; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and brother, Ralph Smith of Denver, CO. She was preceded in death by her husband, Major General Daniel E. Hooks; and son, Dr. Lawrence E. Hooks. Lucero -- Eremita G. Lucero 75, a resident of Alameda, passed away July 9, 2000in a local hospital. She is survived by her children, Julie Lucero, Lucille Lucero, Ray Lucero and wife, MaryAnne, Mary Martha Valencia and husband, Walter, Lorraine Lucero and boyfriend, Johnny Roybal, Lawrence Lucero, and Andy Lucero and wife, Sandra. Eremita was preceded in death by her husband, Eulogio H. Lucero; and son, Richard Lucero. Also surviving are 18 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren; one sister, Catalina Sanchez. Eremita was a school teacher until she married in 1946 and became a housewife and mother. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. A Rosary will be recited Wednesday evening, at 7:00 p.m., at Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday at 12:00 o'clock noon also at Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church. Interment will take place at the Mt. Carmel Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Juan S. Garcia, Ted. S. Garcia, Randolph D. Garcia, Manuel Gonzales, Steve Gutierrez, and Horacio Segura. Honorary Pallbearer will be Johnny Roybal. Nieto -- Mr. Ben Nieto Jr., 74, a resident of Albuquerque, passed away on July 9, 2000. Mr. Nieto was the beloved husband of 54 years to Mrs. Dolores Nieto. He is also survived by two daughters, Cynthania Nieto, California and Janice Valverde and husband, Trinidad of California; four sons, Richard Nieto of Hawaii, Stephen Nieto, Ben Nieto III and John Nieto; four sisters, Esther Sanchez and husband, Joe, Lupe Vigil and husband, Pete, Rorie Marez and Charlene Castillo; five brothers, Lawrence Nieto and wife, Carla, Bruce Nieto and wife, Marianne, Jimmy Nieto and wife, Edwina, Tony Nieto and wife, Dorothy and Manuel Nieto and wife, Vicky; ten grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Mr. Nieto was a member of the Catholic Church and a veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving in World War II. A Rosary will be recited Tuesday evening, 7:00 p.m., at St. Anne Catholic Church, 1400 Arenal SW, with visitation at the church after 6:30 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday morning, 9:00 a.m., at St. Anne Catholic Church with final viewing at the church after 8:30 a.m. Father Daniel Balizan, Celebrant. Palacio -- Jose Orlando Palacio, 79, a resident of the Albuquerque area since 1923, died Sunday, July 9, 2000. He is survived by his wife, Rita L. Palacio; one son, Charles Palacio and wife, Lillian, all of Bosque Farms; three daughters, Eileen Maestas and husband, Rudy M. of Albuquerque, Sylvia Palacio of Bosque Farms, and Audrey Palacio of Los Chaves; nephew, Steve Lopez who they raised as a son; 12 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his son, Ernesto Palacio and sister, EulalaTreijo. Mr. Palacio was a life member of the D.A.V., the American Legion, and the V.F.W. Rosary will be recited Tueday, 7:00 p.m., at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, 1818 Coal Pl. SE. Mass will be celebrated Thursday, 10:00 a.m., at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, with Father Flavio Santillanes, Celebrant. Peterson -- Chris Torger Peterson, age 31, died in Santa Fe on Saturday, July 8, 2000. He was born in River Falls, WI on April 27, 1969. Chris graduated from Pojoaque High School in 1987, received his Bachelor's degree from the Rochester Institute of Technology in 1991, and in 1994, earned his Master's degree from New Mexico State University. He was a teacher and a coach at Pojoaque High School for five years and had also taught at Espanola. Chris' passions were the sports he loved to play, especially soccer and basketball. He was a star athlete while attending high school and was a three sport state allstar his senior years. He is survived by his mother, Ann Peterson of Pojoaque; father, Bruce Peterson of Estancia, NM; brothers, Nathan Peterson of Tucson, AZ, Matthew Peterson of Estancia; sisters, Andrea Johnston, Ellen Marie Verlinde, Rochester, NY; daughter, Katie Clay of Santa Fe; many aunts, uncles, nephews, nieces, cousins, other relatives and countless friends. Preston -- Charles S. Preston, 91, passed away on Saturday, July 8, 2000. Mr. Preston moved to New Mexico in 1950 with his family from Geneva, New York. He retired from the house of Carpets in 1984. He is survived by his son, Paul Preston and wife, Emily; granddaughter, April Kniebbe and spouse, Harold; grandson, Roger Preston and spouse, Michelle; great-grandchildren, Justin, Cameron, and Logan Kniebbe, Montenique, Mahzenique, and Isziah Preston. Mr. Preston was preceded in death by his son, Phillippe. Charles will be remembered for his keen sense of humor. He will be missed by his family. Rarrick -- Billie K. (Garrison) Rarrick died Saturday, July 8, 2000 after a long battle with lung cancer. She was born in Las Animas, CO, on May 29, 1929. She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Harold; her daughter, Susan and husband, James Herrera; sons, David and wife, Patricia, Mark, and Shawn and wife, Kimberly; grandsons, James K. Herrera and wife, Colleen and Jason Tucker and wife, Renee; granddaughters, Rachel Herrera, Samantha and Christine Rarrick; great-grandsons, Jacob Herrera and Brandon Tucker, all of Albuquerque; her mother, Maxine Garrison; brother, Charles Garrison and wife, Karen; and sister, Janice Aubert and husband, Ray; brother-in-law, Richard Rarrick and wife, Maxine, all of Oklahoma; and sister-in-law, Beverly Holland of Gulfport, MS; and numerous nieces and nephews. Billie had been a member of the Sanado Club, the Octo Viejo Bridge Club and several bowling trips. She was a dedicated wife, mother and friend. She enjoyed her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, traveling - particularly cruises and her trips to Las Vegas and Laughlin, NV. She lived life pretty much on her terms. Rich -- Mary Ellen Rich, age 84, passed away peacefully on July 10, 2000, at home surrounded by her loving family. Mary was born on March 23, 1916 in Santa Rosa and moved to Albuquerque where she married Angelo Rich Sr. and successfully raised six children. Mary enjoyed entertaining, cooking, gardening and telling the stories of her family and many friends. She was preceded in death by her mother, Juanita Labadic in 1980; her son, Robert Rich in 1975; and her grandson, Johnny Rich Jr. in 1989. She will be remembered with love and admiration by her husband of 65 years, Angelo Rich Sr.; her daughter, Rose Marie Rich-Chavez; her five sons, Angelo Rich Jr., Johnny Rich, Michael Rich and wife, Barbara, Jack Rich and Judy Bentley; her 11 grandchildren, Debbie, Curtis, Randy, Paula, Michael, Caryn, Tina, Brian, Arlene, Marty, Laralea and their significant others; and her six great-grandchildren, Andrew, Andy, Alicia, Elle, Regan and Ryan; and other family members, Patsy Conroy, Conrad Chavez, Bonnie Tipton, Joan Carlson, Charmaine Davis, Sharon Heinsma, Eremita and Margaret Campos. Salazar -- Mrs. Avelina Salazar, 71, a resident of Albuquerque, passed away on July 8, 2000. Mrs. Salazar was the beloved wife of 48 years to Mr. Alfonso Salazar. She is also survived by three daughters, Emily Marez and husband, Eugene, Clara Bullis and husband, Arnie and Sylvia Candelaria; two sisters, Josie Quintana and husband, Adolfo and Claudia Rivera and husband, Arturo; one brothers, Johnny Bustamante and wife, Eleanor; nine grandchildren, Jaime, Vincente and Daniel Marez, Marcuss, Breanna and Presston Bullis, Tomas, Patrick and Julian Candelaria; two great-grandchildren, Mercedes and Carlissa Marez; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Salter -- Carla Lynn Salter, 48, of West Mermod Street, Carlsbad, New Mexico, passed away Wednesday, July 5, 2000 at Carlsbad Medical Center, Carlsbad, New Mexico, surrounded by those who loved her the most. Carla was born Sunday, September 2, 19151 to Arthur"Art" Durwood Herring and Verdean Joyce Mears Herring in Carlsbad, where she graduated from Carlsbad High School in 1968. She attended NMSU, Las Cruces, New Mexico, 1991-1995. She received an Associates degree in Criminal Justice with a minor in Social Services. She had lived extensively in Albuquerque and Las Cruces. Her hobbies included sand candles, macrame, painting and drawing with chalks, and oil painting. She also loved poetry. She had attended Oasis Christian Fellowship. She was unique in many ways and will be greatly missed by many. She is survived by her sons, Patrick M. Salter of Austin, TX and Jonathon C. Salter of Carlsbad; parents, Art and Verdean Herring of Carlsbad; brother, Michael W. Herring of Carlsbad; and maternal grandparents, Tony and Vera Hernandez of Carlsbad. Schulte -- John Walter Schulte, age 80, of Las Cruces, died Friday, July 7, 2000 at Mesilla Valley Hospice La Posada. He was born August 28, 1919 in Raton, and retired from the Los Alamos National Laboratory. He retired to the Chama area and had been a Las Cruces resident for the past 16 years. Mr. Schulte was a parishioner at Holy Cross Catholic Church and was a member of the Knights of Columbus in Los Alamos, Chama and Las Cruces. He was also a member of the local Horse Shoe Pitchers Assoc. Survivors include his wife, Marie Lorraine Schulte of the family home; son, Fred Schulte and his wife, Sharon of Austin, TX and their children, Curtis Schulte of OskKosh, WI, Gretchen Olguin and husband, Matthew of Cedar Park, TX; step-sons, Mark Hartshorne and wife, Trina of Las Cruces and their daughter, Taylor, Michael Hartshorne and wife, Lida of Albuquerque, Joseph Hartshorne and wife, Sonia of Rociada, NM and their children, Eustace and Sergio, Jeffrey Hartshorne of Las Cruces; step-grandson, David Hartshorne of Albuquerque; brothers, Albert Schulte and wife, Erma of Raton, Steven Schulte and wife, Betty of Albuquerque; and great-grandchildren, Steven and Kristen Olguin of Cedar Park, TX. A Memorial Mass will be held Thursday, July 13, 2000, 9:00 a.m., at Immaculate Heart of Mary Cathedral with Fr. John Tickle celebrating. A second Memorial Mass is planned for the following day, Friday, July 14, 2000, 1:30 p.m., at St. Patricks Catholic Church in Chama, NM, with Fr. Florian Renaud, celebrating. West -- Eudora M. West, 69, a resident of Belen, peacefully passed away on Monday, July 10, 2000. She was a member of Our Lady of Belen Catholic Church and was a member of the Catholic Daughters of America Chapter 1357. Eudora was a Master Grower, working at El Cid Nursery in Tome for many years, and later working for Bob Dugan Nursery of Belen as a Grower and Manager up until the present. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Delno in 1994; and her parents, Toribio and Adelina Chavez. Eudora is survived by her two loving children, Marie Smrt and her husband, Rick of Belen and Gary and his fiancee, Brenda Hurbina, both of Albuquerque; two grandchildren, Richard Smrt Jr. and Erica, both of Belen; her two sisters, Flora Tafoya and her husband, Herman of Belen, Corine Tafoya and her husband, Ernest of Belen; two brothers, Fermin George Chavez and his wife, Sally and Robert Lee Chavez and his wife, Virginia, all of Tome. Eudora is also survived by her many loving nieces and nephews. A viewing will be held on Tuesday, from 5:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., at Romero Funeral Home followed by a Rosary at 6:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, 9:00 a.m., at Our Lady of Belen Catholic Church.
