Tabet -- Chris A. Tabet, 37, a resident of El Cerro Loop, passed away peacefully at his home on Tuesday, September 26, 2000. He was a member of The Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Tome and a charter member of the Elk Lodge of Belen. Chris was an avid supporter of the Los Lunas Young Athletics League, always being there for our youth. He was well known as an area businessman, owning and operating Tabet Trucking Co. and Los Lunas Sand & Gravel. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Jim and Laura Hadaway; paternal grandfather, Joe Tabet; and his brother-in-law, Dennis Torres, both in 1999; and one niece, Trinity Sloan. Chris is survived by his loving wife of 16 years, Cindy A., of the family home; three precious children who were the love of his life, Clinton Anthony, Craig Addison, and Cayla Ashley; his parents, Herman and Betty Tabet of Belen; three brothers, Jim Sloan of Belen, Larry Tabet and his wife, Kelly, of Los Lunas; and Jay Tabet and his wife, Brenda, of Belen; one sister, Debbie Tabet of Las Cruces; paternal grandmother, Lily Tabet of Belen; sister-in-laws, Sylvia Torres, Theresa Landavazo and husband, Fred; Lisa Bustamante and husband, Rodney, Tina Baca and husband, Chris; brother-in-laws, Raymond Aragon and wife, Yolanda, Christopher and Dallas Hawks; mother-in-law, Dolores Hawks; father-in-law, Leroy Bustamante and his wife, Sydney; and his Godchildren, Tera Landavazo and Keith Hershfield. Chris is also survived by his many loving aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. A Viewing will take place on Friday, 5:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., at Our Lady of Belen Catholic Church, followed by a Rosary at 6:30 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, 12:00 p.m., at Our Lady of Belen with Interment following in the Parish Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Marcos Torres, Carrie Chavez, Tony Chavez, Larry Feight, Robert Tabet, Matthew Otero, Frederico Landavazo IV, and Robert Vigil. Honorary pallbearers will be his two dedicated employees, Ernest"Sonny" Sanchez and Mark Jaramillo. Other Honorary pallbearers will be Jimmy Sloan, Keith Hershfield, Edward Cubero, David and Robert Sparks. Romero Funeral Home, Belen, NM.
