Riley -- John T. Riley, 87, died Saturday, April 29, 2000. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Hildegarde Riley of Albuquerque; daughter, Patti Curry and husband, Patrick of Albuquerque; son, Michael Riley of Upwey, Victoria, Australia; grandchildren, Candi Poole, Casey Curry, and Kelley Curry; great-grandchildren, Joshua Poole, Jacob Poole, Stephanie Curry, Katie Curry, Taylor Curry, and Cassandra Curry; and brother, Dalton C. Riley of Oklahoma City, OK. He was born in Stoneburg, Texas on a ranch on February 22, 1913. Mr. Riley spent his early childhood in Capulin, New Mexico on a ranch before moving to Norman, OK where he graduated from high school and the University of Oklahoma. After receiving his degree in Business Administration, he became the deputy county treasurer of Cleveland County, Oklahoma. In 1941, Mr. Riley became a civil service employee for the US Air Force and continued until his retirement in 1972. His career in the civil service took him and his family to several different places including Oklahoma, Germany, North Carolina, Alabama and Sacramento, California. Upon retirement he moved to Hesperia, CA where he enjoyed playing golf, bowling, and playing bridge. Mr. Riley was an active member of Church of the Valley in Apple Valley, California until moving to Albuquerque in 1998. He was a dedicated husband, father, and grandfather, and he will be deeply missed by all of his family. Cremation has taken place and private disposition of cremains will take place at a later date.
