Gentzler -- Robert"Bob" Francis Gentzler, 79, a 36 resident of Edgewood, NM passed away Friday April 28, 2000 on his ranch. He was born to Solomon and Gertrude (Stevens) Gentzler September 4, 1920 in Portis, Kansas. Bob graduated from Pilot school in Fort Sumner, NM and served in the Air Force during WWII as a B-17 bomber pilot. He also graduated from UCLA and got a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, he went to MIT and got his masters in Meteorology, he attended University of Denver in 1940 and the South Dakota School of Mines Tech in 1942 and 1946. He was a member of the National Arabian Horse Assoc., and is asked he would say"I am just a cowboy" He is survived by his long time Companion Donita"Doni" Carpenter of Edgewood, NM; his son Tim Gentzler of Anthony, NM; his daughter Victoria and husband Russell Williams of Edgewood, NM; his neice Judy Ilhi; nephews James Hackett, Richard Hackett, Charles Rausch; his 6 grandchildren Grady Gentzler, Zane Gentzler, Mitzi Gentzler, Jason Labb, Alex Haddad, Joshua Haddad, Michelle Williams; his 5 great-grandchildren Anastasia Haddad, Nicklos McNeese, Anthony Haddad, Joshua Haddad, Cora Williams; and also Doni Carpenter's children Kitty, Trish, and Rick. He was preceded in death by his former wife Mary Katherine Gentzler; his sister Clarabeth Rausch; brother Jack Gentzler; and grand-daughter Ashley Smith. Services will be Tuesday May 2, 2000--10:00 a.m. at the Stanley Union Church in Stanley, NM with Jim Thompson officiating, burial will follow at the Santa Fe National Cemetery--1:00 p.m. Pallbearers are George Edwards, Jim Pancrazio, Dr. Bob Morris, Angus Campbell, Howard Calkins, and Jim Montoño. Bob was known as a very loving dad, uncle, grandfather, and great-grandfather, he will be missed by all who knew and loved him. Arrangements were entrusted to the Harris-Hanlon Mortuary in Moriarty, NM.
