Perea -- Theodore (Ted) Perea Jr., 65, a resident of San Francisco, California for over 30 years, passed away on February 5, 2000 at the Veterans Hospital in San Francisco after battling cancer for the past year. He was the son of Palmer Alarid and Ted Perea Sr., both deceased. He was born in Albuquerque on the 13 of October, 1934. He joined the US Marine Corp in 1951 and served four years. He retired from Hertz Car Rental in San Francisco two years ago after over 25 years of service. He was preceded in death by both parents and one brother, Phillip Perea. He is survived by five brothers, Lorenzo Perea and wife, Carmen, Joe (Kandy) Candelaria and wife, Sandy, Edward, Louie and Ricky Candelaria; and five sisters, Eleanor Apodaca and husband, Harold, Antonette Dietrich and husband, Bill, Gloria Hossom, Margie Lopez and husband, Randy, Alice Candelaria; and very close friends, George and Joann Lung. A special thanks to Gigi Trabant, RN, who held Ted in her arms for us in his final hour of life and for her special care she gave him during his stay at the VA. Also thanks go to Dr. Ben Davoren who took a personal interest in Ted, and to his friends and neighbors, Mark, Charles and Frank for helping him during his time of treatment. His body was cremated in San Francisco on Saturday the 12th of February, 2000. He will be missed greatly by family and friends where he left some special memories.
