Lindemann -- Hazel Cole Lindemann, a resident of the Albuquerque area since 1982, passed away February 3, 2000, three days prior to her 93rd birthday. Born in Chicago, the younger of two daughters of James and Marie Hawley, she there completed grammar and high school. In 1930, after working in the offices of the Wrisley Company, she married Rex L. Cole of Fergus Falls, Minnesota. Hazel was an early member of the Palos Methodist Church in Palos Heights, Illinois. She loved to cook and bake, and for a number of years following the second World War, she and her husband, Rex operated a popular restaurant in Orland Park, southwest of Chicago, where she gained acclaim for her outstanding homemade pies. She was preceded in death by Rex Cole; by her older sister, Mabel; by her second husband, Fred Lindemann; and by her step-son, Ronald Lindemann. She is survived by her son, Alan Rex Cole, Colonel, USAF, retired, and daughter-in-law, Merry M. Cole of Corrales, and by their children, Scott Cole of Dallas, TX, Stacy Cole Stefan of Placerville, CA, and Merry Cole Hanson of Rio Rancho, and their five children. She also is survived by the family of her step-son, Ronald Lindemann, his widow, Marilyn of Palos Heights, IL, and their five children, and ten grandchildren. Final arrangements have been completed by the Sunrise Society of New Mexico.
