Massey -- Audra Virginia (Ginny) Massey, 79, a resident of Albuquerque, died Tuesday, May 9, 2000, after a long cancer illness. She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Donnell Massey; children, Virginia Ann Heider and husband, Jack, John Patrick Massey and wife, Alice, Douglas Oneal Massey and wife, Rita, Catherine Marie Kelly and husband, Berry, all of Albuquerque, and son, Robert D. Massey of Wisconsin; six grandchildren, Lindsey Bell, Tyler and Nicholas Kelly, and Megan, Brian, and Audra Massey; four sisters, Lucille Roetker, Audora Orindgreff, Judy Fredericksen, and Leatrice Joy O'Dell; and brother, Marcus Hall. She was born in Buffalo, OK, August 16, 1920, and lived there until attending college at Guthrie and Stillwater, OK. After college, she was employed by the Boeing Company in Wichita, KS until 1943, when she accepted a job at Roswell Army Air Field, New Mexico. There, she met her future husband, then Major Donnell Massey. They were married in 1946 in Managua, Nicaragua, and continued in U.S. Air Force assignments until retiring in Albuquerque in 1968. Ginny was an accomplished gardener with a home of many flowers. She will be remembered by a host of friends as a happy, kind, and gentle lady. She was a wonderful wife and mother, and will be remembered by her family with deepest love, admiration and happiness. She will be missed beyond measure. Services will be held Friday, 11:00 a.m., at the Newman Center, University of New Mexico Campus, 1815 Las Lomas Rd. NE, with Father Bob Keller officiating. French Mortuary, 1111 University Blvd. NE.
