Archuleta -- Mr. Felipe Adriano Archuleta, 74, a resident of Albuquerque, passed away on May 9, 2000. Mr. Archuleta was the beloved husband of seven years to Mrs. Florentina Martinez. He is also survived by two sons, Phillip A. Archuleta Jr. and wife, Sandra and Floyd A. Archuleta and wife, Debra; three sisters, Ramonita Roybal, Odilia Baker and Julia Casados; four brothers, Pablin Archuleta and wife, Margaret, Jose Archuleta and wife, Frances, David Archuleta and wife, Lydia and Mike Archuleta and wife, Teddie; brothers and sisters-in-law, Rosenaldo Martinez, Mamalia Valdez and Beatrice Montano; six grandchildren, Laura, Phillip III, Joshua, Victoria, Jessica and Hannah; one great-grandchild, Brianna. Mr. Archuleta was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving in the Korean Conflict. A Funeral service will be held on Friday morning at 11:00 a.m., at Victory Love Fellowship Church, 7201 Central NW. Pastor Rob Carman officiating. Interment will follow at the Santa Fe National Cemetery at 2:00 p.m., with Military Honors. His son, Reverend Floyd A. Archuleta will do the graveside readings. Baros -- Joe (Eloy) Baros, 60, passed away on May 9, 2000, at home with his loved ones by his side. He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Dorothy M. Baros; and his parents, Juan and Lucinda Baros. Joe was a great man of character and friend to all, always willing to lend a helping hand without hesitation and with genuine concern. He was loved by many. Joe loved the outdoors and spent much of his time doing the things he loved to do and during his illness, continued doing the things he loved to do and with high spirits. He always managed to bring sunshine to a cloudy day. Joe is survived by three sons, Michael Baros and wife, Rubina, David Baros and Reuben Baros; three daughters, Cynthia Baros, Naomi Baros-Martinez and husband, Alfred, Sarah Baros and boyfriend, Melvin Cooper; eight grandchildren, Sean, Alexis, Zachary, and Christian Baros, Daija Cooper and Stephanie, Desiree and Elijah Martinez; brothers-in-law, L. Sammy Esquibel and wife, JoAnn, A. Louie Esquibel and wife, Carla, Ronald Esquibel, Mark Esquibel and Matthew Esquibel; sisters-in-law, Lucy Roybal and husband, Manuel, Nancy Esquibel and husband, Roy, Peggy Martinez and husband, Raymond, and Elizabeth Silva. Garcia -- Eocariz Garcia, 95, a resident of the Albuquerque area most of her life, died Tuesday, May 9, 2000. She is survived by her sons, Pablo Garcia and wife, Irene, Gilbert Garcia and wife, Modisita, all of Tijeras, Jerry Garcia and wife, Mary, and Robert Garcia, all of Albuquerque; daughters, Julia Garcia of Albuquerque, Angelina Garcia of Tijeras, Carlotta Garcia and husband, Florenio of Carnuel, NM, and Bennie Padilla and husband, Robert of Tijeras; daughter-in-law, Tillie Garcia of Tijeras; son-in-law, Jose Martinez of Tijeras; 39 grandchildren; 66 great-grandchildren; 13 great-great grandchildren; three great-great-great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Mrs. Garcia was preceded in death by her husband, Vicente Garcia in 1980; and by her sons, Betin in 1998, Vicente Jr. 1968; daughter; Rene Martinez; grandsons, Epeminio and Leroy; granddaughter, Melba Graham; great-granddaughter, Christie Torrez; and sons-in-law, Epefanio Garcia and Ricardo Garcia. Gibanica -- Samuel Gibanica, 84, passed away May 6, 2000. He retired as an Army Lt. Colonel after serving his country for 30 years. He worked as an automotive salesman, receiving awards from Mercedes and Cadillac. He was a devoted husband, father and"Papa" who dearly loved his family. He is survived by wife of 69 years, Evelyn Gibanica; children, Diane G. Deflon-Ray and husband, James, Stephen C. Gibanica and wife, Judy and daughter, Stacy; grandson, Eric C. Deflon; great-grandchildren, Brandon and Victoria Deflon; extended family and friends who loved and will miss him. Gideon -- Ira Monroe Gideon, 78, a resident of Albuquerque died, Monday, May 8, 2000. He is survived by his wife, Nelda F. Gideon of Albuquerque; daughters, Arlena Crandell and husband, Fred of Benton, KS and Cherie Berg and husband, Brian of Cascade, MT; son, Alan Gideon and wife, Julie of Ashburn, VA; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; brothers, Bill J. Gideon of Webb City, MO, Elmer Gideon of Cleveland, OH and James Gideon of Anderson, MO. Mr. Gideon lived in Great Bend, Kansas following discharge from the US Navy in December 1945. He worked as mechanic in Great Bend, KS, Roswell, NM, and Albuquerque. He married Nelda Farnsworth in 1942. Services will be held Friday, 10:00 a.m., at St. Paul's United Methodist Church with Rev. Massey -- Audra Virginia (Ginny) Massey, 79, a resident of Albuquerque, died Tuesday, May 9, 2000, after a long cancer illness. She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Donnell Massey; children, Virginia Ann Heider and husband, Jack, John Patrick Massey and wife, Alice, Douglas Oneal Massey and wife, Rita, Catherine Marie Kelly and husband, Berry, all of Albuquerque, and son, Robert D. Massey of Wisconsin; six grandchildren, Lindsey Bell, Tyler and Nicholas Kelly, and Megan, Brian, and Audra Massey; four sisters, Lucille Roetker, Audora Orindgreff, Judy Fredericksen, and Leatrice Joy O'Dell; and brother, Marcus Hall. She was born in Buffalo, OK, August 16, 1920, and lived there until attending college at Guthrie and Stillwater, OK. After college, she was employed by the Boeing Company in Wichita, KS until 1943, when she accepted a job at Roswell Army Air Field, New Mexico. There, she met her future husband, then Major Donnell Massey. They were married in 1946 in Managua, Nicaragua, and continued in U.S. Air Force assignments until retiring in Albuquerque in 1968. Ginny was an accomplished gardener with a home of many flowers. She will be remembered by a host of friends as a happy, kind, and gentle lady. She was a wonderful wife and mother, and will be remembered by her family with deepest love, admiration and happiness. She will be missed beyond measure. Murdoch -- John Murdoch Jr., 44, a resident of Rio Rancho for the past five years, passed away on Monday, May 8, 2000. John was born December 20, 1955 in Sao Paulo, Sao Paulo, Brazil, the son of John and Elizabeth Murdoch Sr. He was a manager of a casino. John was preceded in death by his mother, He is survived by his wife, Lori of Rio Rancho; his father, John Murdoch Sr. of Cantinas, Sao Paulo, Brazil; one brother, Tom Murdoch and wife, Cathy of Derby, KS; one sister, Kathy Valdez and husband, Dave of Orlando, FL; several nieces and nephews; and many, many loving friends and two special"friends", his dogs, Cocoa and Pellie. John and Lori were newly married on March 25, 2000. They had the best year of both their lives together. John was very giving to family and friends. He always wanted to help everyone and always made himself available to anyone. Friends often called John for advice on many issues. John also spent much of his time working on ways to improve the casino at which he worked. The visitation for John will be today, Thursday, May 11, 2000, from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., in the chapel of Vista Verde Mortuary, Sara Rd., at Meadowlark Ln., Rio Rancho. Nally -- Eugene Victor Nally (Gene-"UncleBud") passed away on Monday May 8, 2000 after complications from emphysema. He was born on December 25, 1926, the 12th child of Matthew and Mary Nally in Detroit, Michigan. Gene retired from ABF in 1989 as a teamster member of local #492. He was a member of the teamsters for 37 years."Uncle Bud" was an avid outdoorsmen, he loved camping, fishing, and playing guitar with his friends. He also loved his little dog, Ajax. He will be missed by his many relatives, friends, and neighbors. He is survived by his loving wife of 19 years, Evelyn of the family hom in Los Lunas; three loving children, Terry and his wife, Cindy; Vickie Parker and her husband, Charley; and Mary Abeyta; 7 loving granchildren, and 8 great grandchildren. Parnegg -- Janee Sprecher Parnegg, 76 years old, lifelong resident of Albuquerque, passed away 3:00 a.m. on May 5, 2000, of complications after surgery. She is survived by her husband, Donald"Dan" Daniels; her only son, Peter Parnegg, his wife, Mary Sure Walsh; her two grandchildren, Payton and Miles Parnegg; her nephew, Tim Haynes and his wife, Anne Packard Haynes; and her sister, Nancy Haynes. An avid gardener, florist, healer, Christian spiritualist, and author, Janee brought joy to nearly everyone she touched. Having been active in AA for nearly 40 years, she was gifted in helping people overcome alcohol and substance abuse, as well as family crises. Born in Albuquerque, at 314 12th St. NW in 1924, Janee attended Sandia Girls School and UNM. She became a professional portrait photographer for Dick Kent Photography in the 60's. She then opened and operated Jim Kelly Counseling for seven 7 years with two partners, specializing in employee assistance programs and the treatment of alcoholism and substance abuse. Later she collaborated in the authorship of a number of books with the renowned religious author, Ernie Larson, the most notable of which is"Recovering Catholics." She will be missed by all whose lives she so generously touched. The family would like to extend deepest thanks to University Hospital, Dr. Rob Zuniga, and Dr. Mark Wilson, and the extraordinary nurses who brought the most humane and compassionate care to Janee in her final hours. The Memorial Service has been changed to be held May 13, 2000, 2:00 p.m., at St. Johns Episcopal Cathedral, 318 Silver SW. Saiz -- Mrs. Petra G. Saiz, 57, a resident of Albuquerque, passed away on May 9, 2000, peacefully at home in the arms of her loving family. Mrs. Saiz was the beloved wife of 35 years to Mr. Miguel Saiz. She is also survived by one daughter, Odette Saiz; three sons, Michael R. Sisk -- Lois K. Sisk, age 79, a resident of Albuquerque, died May 8, 2000 in a local hospital. She is survived by her children, Patricia A. Sisk and James P. Sisk; three grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren; brother, John Fisher of Salina, KS; and a sister, Phyllis Chanys of Junction City, KS; half-sister, Clarabel Sisk of Wichita, KS. Lois volunteered at St. Joseph NE Heights Hospital on the Information Desk for 17 years, accruing 11,000 volunteered hours there. He was also an Accountant with First National Bank and retired from there after 20 years. Strain -- Dr. Dudley Strain, 90, a ten year resident of Albuquerque, died Tuesday, May 9, 2000. He is survived by his daughter, Ann Meriney of Albuquerque; son, Keith Strain and wife, Betsy of Ada, OK; grandchildren, Trey Hoffman of Dallas, TX, Tiffany Turetzky and husband, David of New York, NY, and John D. Strain of Dallas, TX. He was preceded in death by his wife, Helen Strain on November 19, 1998. Dr. Strain was a graduate of Yale Divinity School, Butler University, and Texas Christian University. He pastored for 50+ years in the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in Independance, IN, Salem, OR, and two churches in Lubbock. He was also the author of three books. Dr. Strain was the driving force in the founding of Contact Lubbock, and the International Cultural Center at Texas Tech. He retired in 1990 at the age of 80 and chose to move to Albuquerque to be close to his daughter. Dr. Strain was a member of Monte Vista Christian Church of Albuquerque. Tracy -- Stuart Bloom Tracy, 90, of Las Cruces, passed away on May 9, 2000. Mr. Tracy moved to Las Cruces in the early 1940's. He taught at area schools and retired from PSL at NMSU in the 1970's. He was preceded in death by his wife, Edna Murphy Tracy of 50 years in 1982. He later married Elizabeth Quinton of Phoenix, AZ. He is survived by his sons, David A. Tracy of Kirkland, WA, William C. Quinton, Robert W. Quinton and James. R. Quinton, all of Phoenix, AZ, and Charles E. Quinton of Laramie, WY. Mr. Tracy graduated from Central University in Edmond, OK, where he endowed a scholarship fund for teachers. Mr. Tracy was a Past President of the Kiwanis Club of Las Cruces, a milestone of his year was the establishment of the Key Club at Las Cruces High School. He was also a founder of the United Way of Dona Ana County in 1957. Mr. Tracy was a charter member of Jornada Masonic Lodge #70, AF&AM. He served the Grand Lodge of New Mexico in various offices before serving as Grand Master in 1974. Mr. Tracy was 33 degree Scottish Rite Mason and was instrumental in establishing the Scottish Rite Temple in Las Cruces. He was a member of Paradise Valley-Silver Trowel 329 Masonic Lodge AF&AM in Phoenix, AZ. He was a Past Patron of Ruth #8, Order of the Eastern Star in Deming, NM, and Past Patron of Hatch 352, OES in Hatch, NM. A visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Thursday, May 11, 2000, at Getz Funeral Home. The Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m., Friday, May 12, 2000, at St. Paul's United Methodist Church, with Dr. Larry Hall officiating. Wilson -- Donald J. Wilson, 73, a resident of Albuquerque, passed away at his home on Saturday, May 6. He was a long-time, active member of the Heights Cumberland Presbyterian Church. Known as"Poppa Don" or"Mr. Don" by many children and young people, he was a retired Greyhound Bus driver with 32 years and over 3 million miles of service. A courageous and decorated veteran, Don served in the U.S. Navy during WWII. In retirement years,"Poppa Don" worked alongside wife, Shirley, in the DLD Sycamore School located at their church. His love for children and young people was well known. While he could, at times, be firm, he was extremely compassionate and caring, and his God-given gifts of faith, helps, and giving were constantly evident to young and old alike. An avid fisherman, he will always be remembered for his 12 foot fly rod and his love of fording the Cimarron River in Northern New Mexico, near Dawson, where he was born, December 19, 1926. One of the truly special"Dinosaurs" he will also be remembered for his radiant smile, wonderful sense of humor, penchant for taking out the trash, and gifts of two dollar bills. Married 54 years, Don is survived by his devoted wife, Shirley; sons, Don and wife, Linda, Rocky and friend, Flo, Gary and wife, Laura; grandchildren, Kimberly Ellison and husband, Jason, Kelly Wilson, Yvonne Arrossa and husband, Sean, Brock, Lacey, and Jake Wilson; great-grandaughter, Nikeya Arrossa; father, Jack Pacetti; brother, Jackie Pacetti and wife, Marian; sister, Sheryl Casias and husband, Robert; and a number of nephews and nieces. A Memorial Service of Thanksgiving is scheduled at 10:00 a.m., Friday, May 12, also at Heights. It was"Poppa Don's" desire that, in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to DLD's Sycamore School or HCPC's Good Samaritan Fund, both at Heights Cumberland Presbyterian Church, 8600 Academy N.E.
