Gibanica -- Samuel Gibanica, 84, passed away May 6, 2000. He retired as an Army Lt. Colonel after serving his country for 30 years. He worked as an automotive salesman, receiving awards from Mercedes and Cadillac. He was a devoted husband, father and"Papa" who dearly loved his family. He is survived by wife of 69 years, Evelyn Gibanica; children, Diane G. Deflon-Ray and husband, James, Stephen C. Gibanica and wife, Judy and daughter, Stacy; grandson, Eric C. Deflon; great-grandchildren, Brandon and Victoria Deflon; extended family and friends who loved and will miss him. A Memorial service will be held at Christ Unity Church, 9800 Candelaria NE, at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, May 12, 2000 with burial of remains following at Santa Fe National Cemetery.
