Perea -- Mr. Arthur (Artie) M. Perea, 47, a resident of Albuquerque, passed away on January 27, 2000. Artie is survived by his beloved mother, Ramona Perea; one sister, Mary Martinez and husband, Steve; three brothers, Victor Perea and wife, Gloria, Robert Perea and Paul Perea; nieces and nephews, Steve Martinez and wife, Melanie, Thomas Martinez and wife, Christina, Jennifer Garcia-Salas and husband, Giovanni, Mark Perea and wife, Andrea, Denise Salguero and husband, Jessie, Audrey Candelaria and husband, Rodney, Robyn Moreno and husband, Jaime and Cassandra Perea; many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Artie was a member of the Catholic Church, veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving during the Vietnam era. Visitation will be Sunday afternoon in the Holy Family Catholic Church, 562 Atrisco SW, from 1:30 p.m. until 2:00 p.m., with a Rosary to be recited at 2:00 p.m. by Gabriella Nieto. Final Visitation will be Monday morning in the church from 9:30 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. with Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. by Father Manuel Viera. Committal Service with military honors will follow Mass at the Santa Fe National Cemetery at 12:30 p.m. Pallbearers will be Steve Martinez, Thomas Martinez, Mark Perea, Steve Herrera, Ernie Herrera and Phillip Herrera. Gabaldon Mortuary, 1000 Old Coors Dr. S.W. in charge of arrangements.
