Silva -- Severa Silva, born on March 21, 1917, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, August 16, due to complications with her heart. She was surrounded by her family and left them peacefully. She was preceded in death by her parents, Felipe and Rose Luna; husband, Margarito Silva; son, Sammy Silva; grandson, Leandro Lee Pena; brother, Quadalupe Luna; daughter, Oralia Soliz. She leaves her children, Margaret Russo and husband, Frank, Adrian Silva and wife, Tina, Irene Pena and husband, Leandro, Gilbert Silva and wife, Mary Ellen, Nick Silva and Donna, Joe Dale Silva and wife, Lorriane, Jeremias Silva and wife, Teresa Lorraine, and David Silva and Teresa. Severa is also survived by her very special granddaughter, Diane Silva Moya; and her 26 grandchildren; 39 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren, all of whom she loved dearly. She is also survived by two sisters, Mary Gallegos of Albuquerque and Maryann Gallegos of Mountainair; brother, Joe Luna of Mountainair."Mom and Gramma" as everyone called her, was a very strong woman. After her husband passed away, she raised her ten children alone. She worked on and off throughout her life and still made time for her children. As the years went on, she became a homemaker and helped raise her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and played a very important part with her fifth generation of great-great-grandchildren. Our memories are walking into her home to the aroma of fresh tortillas because feeding her family is what always made her happy. She gave freely and welcomed all whom entered her home. God Bless You! A viewing will be held on Friday, 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., at Romero Funeral Home, followed by a Rosary at 7:00 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, 11:00 a.m., at the St. Alice Catholic Church in Mountainair, NM.
