Jackson -- Alene Jackson, born May 10, 1921, died unexpectedly on August 3, 2000. A beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, she is survived by a daughter, Samyeann Benevento and husband, Dr. Louis; and a son, Henry Jackson and wife, Cindy. She will be greatly missed by her four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren, Wende Calvert and husband, Richard, Brooke, Lindsay, and Brent Jackson, Austin Poper and Conner Calvert. Alene was dearly loved by many treasured friends. At Alene's request, cremation has taken place. A celebration of her life will be held at a later date on Saturday, August 19, 3:30 p.m., at Chester T. French Memorial Mausoleum, 924 Menaul NE. Alene lived a life of true Christian virtue and was God's faithful servant. The family requests, that in lieu of flowers, memorials be sent to her favorite charity, The New Mexico Children's Home, P.O. Box 629, Portales, NM 88123. French Mortuary, 7121 Wyoming NE.
