Howard -- Morris"Pete" Howard, born November 4, 1916, passed away August 11, 2000, at the New Mexico Veterans Center in Truth or Consequences, NM. Pete retired from Genuine Parts after 25 years. He is survived by his wife, Viola Howard of Albuquerque; daughters, Bonnie Howard and Patricia Apodaca and her husband, Lawrence of Albuquerque, Beverly Thompson and her husband, Ed of Cheyenne, WY, and Ruth Charnley and her husband, Bruce of Vermont; sons, Donald and his wife, Cheryl, and Harlon of Albuquerque. He has nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. He is also survived by four brothers and two sisters. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Mary Jane; and a granddaughter, Karen Apodaca. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to Charter Bank, Hwy 528, in care of Bonnie Howard or Patricia Apodaca, to be used for the patients at the NM Veterans Center. Services will be held Wednesday, August 16, 3:00 p.m., at Strong-Thorne Mortuary, 1100 Coal Ave. SE. Strong-Thorne Mortuary in charge of arrangements.
