Colby -- Margaret Elizabeth"Peggy" Colby, 82, of Silver City, passed away at her home, Sunday, August 13, 2000. A Memorial service will be held 4:00 p.m., Thursday, August 17, 2000, at Episcopal Church of the Good Shepherd with Father Robert Ihlefeld officiating. Mrs. Colby was born July 15, 1917 in Big Springs, TX. She was the daughter of Percy Hinson and Oma Tate Hinson. Mrs. Colby married William John Colby, July 15, 1942 in Roswell. She is survived by her husband, Bill of Silver City; two daughters, Peggy Colby Doll and her husband, Jeff of Albuquerque and Wendy Beserra of Las Cruces; six grandchildren, Steven Doll of Phoenix, AZ, Amber Doll of Albuquerque, Colby Beserra and his wife, Annie Chicago, IL, Roy Brock of Silver City, Richard Beserra of Waconia, MI and Kennie Andowase Anum of Glendale, AZ. Mrs. Colby was raised in Roswell by her aunt, Margaret Grier. She graduated from Roswell High School and attended two years college at Stephens College in Columbia, MO. She graduated from University of New Mexico with a Library Science degree. She was assistant Librarian at New Mexico Western College. She was in charge of the Altar Guild at the Episcopal Church of the Good Shepherd. Her grandfather, George Hinson, was the first Episcopal Minister in Roswell, having established St. Andrews Episcopal Church. Honorary pallbearers for Mrs. Colby will be Moe Rudick, Moose White, Bill Mills, Jim Terry, Dr. Willie, Joe Baker and Dick Rhoades. Flanner -- Marie L. Frank - Flanner lived in Albuquerque since 1954. She is survived by her daughter, Judith Arbogast and husband, Erich; and grandchildren, Jennifer, Christopher and Sarah Arbogast, all of Kingwood, Texas; sister, Cecelia DťAmour and husband, Leo of Albuquerque; brother, Ralph Frank and wife, Josephine of Santa Fe, NM; Richard Frank and wife, Jane of Albuquerque, NM. She was a C.C.E. Teacher and active at Sangre De Cristo Catholic Community. She enjoyed making dolls and active collecting and trading antique dolls. She was also a member of Casa Angelica Auxilliary. Rosary will be recited on Tuesday, August 15, 2000, 7:30 p.m., at Sangre De Cristo Catholic Community, 8901 Candelaria Road NW. Gabaldon -- Marcus Gene Gabaldon, 28, a resident of Albuquerque, passed away in California on August 11, 2000. Marcus was the beloved son of John H. and Brenda L. Gabaldon Sr. He is also survived by one sister, Jennifer Sherisse Gabaldon; one brother, John Gabaldon Jr. and wife, Brittni; his grandparents, Tomy Ballengee, Luciana C. Gabaldon, and Robert and Barbara Watson; his great-grandmother, Paula Singh; uncles, Gene Crain, Patrick Gabaldon and Robert Watson; nephews, Corsinio Martinez and John Gabaldon III; many great-aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Marcus was preceded in death by his grandparents, D.G. Crain and Ernest R. Ballengee. Marcus was a member of the Catholic Church. A Rosary will be recited Thursday evening, 7:00 p.m., at Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Catholic Church, 5415 Fortuna NW, with visitation at the church after 6:30 p.m. Deacon Gene Tuma, reciting. Garcia -- Andy L. Garcia, 61, a longtime resident of Carnuel, NM, went to be with the Lord Monday, August 14, 2000. He was born on November 17, 1938. Andy was preceded in death by his parents, Alcario and Franciscita Garcia, Evangeline Garcia-Valdez; and sister, Angelina Padilla. He is survived by his children, Patti Boyd-Garcia, Brenda Borunda and husband, Hector, Wilbert Garcia, James Garcia and wife, Dolores, Carla Gutierrez and husband, Jimmy, and Andrew Garcia; sister, Senida Jinzo; brother, Eddie Garcia and wife, Mary; special friend, Sylvia Sanchez and children; 11 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Cremation will take place. Services will be held at Holy Child Parish in Carnuel with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday evening, August 17, 2000. Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, August 18, 2000. Private interment for the immediate family will follow. Gohlke -- Harvey G. Gohlke, 89, a resident of Albuquerque, died Sunday, August 13, 2000. He is survived by is wife, Marion Gohlke; son, Gordon Gohlke and wife, Maureen of Evergreen, CO; and three grandsons, Josh Gohlke of Belleville, NJ, Kaz Gohlke of Berkeley, CA and Andrew Gohlke of Evergreen, CO. Mr. Gohlke was a member of the New Mexico Society of Certified Public Accountants. He enjoyed bowling and golfing. Howard -- Morris"Pete" Howard, born November 4, 1916, passed away August 11, 2000, at the New Mexico Veterans Center in Truth or Consequences, NM. Pete retired from Genuine Parts after 25 years. He is survived by his wife, Viola Howard of Albuquerque; daughters, Bonnie Howard and Patricia Apodaca and her husband, Lawrence of Albuquerque, Beverly Thompson and her husband, Ed of Cheyenne, WY, and Ruth Charnley and her husband, Bruce of Vermont; sons, Donald and his wife, Cheryl, and Harlon of Albuquerque. He has nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. He is also survived by four brothers and two sisters. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Mary Jane; and a granddaughter, Karen Apodaca. Jaramillo -- Roberto Telesfor"Telly" Jaramillo, 23, a resident of Albuquerque, passed away on August 13, 2000. Roberto was the beloved son to Ruben and Mary Ann Jaramillo. He is also survived by his son, Shawn Michael Jaramillo; two brothers, Ruben Jaramillo Jr. and wife, Sharon and Richardo (Ricky) Jaramillo; his grandparents, Frances G. Valenzuela and Placida Jaramillo; a niece, Mariah; a nephew, Eric; and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Roberto was a member of the Catholic Church. Visitation will be Wednesday evening, 6:30 p.m., at Holy Family Catholic Church, 562 Atrisco SW, with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. A final viewing will be Thursday morning, from 8:30 a.m. until 9:00 a.m., at Holy Family Church. La Bine -- Eleanor Holmes La Bine passed away Friday, August 11, 2000 at the age of 90. She was born in Oconto Falls, WS, March 5, 1910, the daughter of the late Catherine (Vollmer) and Alfred Holmes. She attended St. Anthony Catholic School, Oconto Falls High School, and the Wisconsin Teacher's Training Program. She taught school in Wabeno, Newald, Alvin and Tipler, WS. She married Edward La Bine June 2, 1934. They made their home in Tipler, WS before retiring to Albuquerque in August, 1980. She is survived by a daughter, Barbara (Jake) Tellier of of Albuquerque; son, Thomas (Debbie) La Bine of Green Bay, WS; four grandchildren, Catherine and Jacob Tellier and Nicholas, and Scott La Bine; a sister, Ardella Holmes of Iron River, MI; nieces, Stephany Burk of Portland, OR, Jan Hay of Oconto, WS; and nephew, Don Reed of Oconto, WS. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward; infant son, Robert; daughter, Joan Runge; sisters, Helen and Melba; brothers, Everett, Ancil and William. The family wishes to thank the staff at Albuquerque Manor and Sandia Hospice for her care. French Mortuary is in charge of cremation. The cremains will be delivered to Jacobs Funeral Home in Iron River, Michigan, where a Memorial service will be held with Father Norman Clisch of St. Agnes Church, officiating. Lauer -- James"Dick" Lauer, 89, a resident of Los Lunas, passed away on Sunday, August 13. He served in the U.S. Army during WWII. He was a custodian in the Ohio School System, retiring in 1976. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary in 1981; brother, Harold in 1997; and sister-in-law, Beulah Lauer in 1992. Dick is survived by his brother, Don and wife, Connie of Belen; brother-in-law, John Hoffman; his very special nephew, Bruce J. and wife, Miriam of Valrico, FL. He is also survived by his loving nieces and nephews. Graveside services will take place in the Newport Cemetery in Newport, Ohio on Thursday, August 17 at 2:30 p.m. Dick's family requests that donations be made in his name to the New Mexico Boys Ranch or Girls Ranch, P.O. Madrid -- Luis Madrid, 70, a resident of Bernalillo, passed away August 12, 2000. He is survived by his two daughters, Rita Rinaldi and husband, Garry, and Laura Jorgensen and husband, Shane; one son, Luis A. Madrid and wife, Crucita. Also surviving are nine grandchildren, Rico, Rebecca, and Gino Rinaldi, Chris, Luis, and Erik Jorgansen, and Justin, Jordan, and Joshua Madrid. Mr. Madrid was born March 15, 1930 in La Ventana, NM to Desiderio and Feliz Madrid. He served our country in the US Army retired as a Sergeant First Class, he was a decorated Vietnam Veteran, member of the American Legion, V.F.W., and the D.A.V. Mr. Madrid worked at the American Legion Department Service office, where he continued helping many veterans. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated this morning, 9:00 a.m.m at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church in Bernalillo. Interment to follow at the Santa Fe National Cemetery. Magatagan -- Dorothy D. Magatagan, 91, a resident of Albuquerque from 1912 to 1999, passed away, Friday, August 4, 2000 in Carmichael, CA. She is survived by her son, Pat Magatagan of San Antonio, TX; daughter, Sharon Norenberg of Carmichael, CA; brother, Philip Dotson of Ponca City, OK; sisters, Mabel Baggett of El Paso, TX and Gertrude Rathgeber of Albuquerque; grandchildren, Shannon Kelleher, Todd and Jeff Magatagan, Brian and Kevin Norenberg; great-grandchildren, Christopher and Megan Kelleher, Kyle, Nathan and Adam Norenberg; and many nieces and nephews. Mcintosh -- Lydia Rosenberger McIntosh, 93, died peacefully at home, August 11, 2000. Born April 3, 1907 in Sarles, North Dakota, she had been a resident of Albuquerque since 1934. She was a registered nurse, a 66 year member of Central United Methodist Church, and attended the North Valley Senior Citizen's Center daily. She is survived by her daughter, Alice Vogel and husband, Mike; her son, Stuart McIntosh and wife, Julie; her six grandchildren, Amy Alderete and husband, Horacio, Hope Trigge and husband, Matt, Alicia Vogel and Ed, Guy Vogel, Mary Vogel, and Josh Vogel; one brother, Archie Rosenberger and wife, Helen; and many nephews and nieces. Lydia was blessed with an unusually long, healthy and happy life. She died as she had hoped, while working in her garden. Dr. Charles Crutchfield officiating. Moore -- Jason P. Moore, age 85, born in East Texas, January 22, 1915, passed away August 15, 2000 in Albuquerque, having been a resident here and business partner with Max Flatow since 1947 (FMSM Architects). Preceded in death by his wife of 58 years, Virginia Mae Bowman Moore on April 5, 1999. He is survived by daughter, Marjorie Shaefer, Southfield, MI; son, John Moore, Albuquerque; daughter, Elizabeth Moore, Tijeras; son, Jason H. Moore, Los Alamos; eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Nations -- Walter W. Nations, 87, a native New Mexican, died Monday, August 14, 2000. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Estaline Nations; daughter, Nancy Ann Core and husband, Andrew, all of Albuquerque; granddaughters, Jane Core of Reston, VA and Susan Core of Albuquerque; sisters-in-law, Lucille Nations of Albuquerque and Dorothy Nations of Arrey, NM; three nieces; and one nephew. Walter was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Lee and Ada Nations; brothers, Emmett Nations and Preston Nations; and sister, Ruby Railston. Walter graduated from NMSU in 1936 with a degree in agriculture. During college he was active in sports and was the captain of 1935 Aggie Football Team, which played in the first college Sun Bowl. In 1984 he was honored by being selected the Outstanding Alumni for the School of Agriculture and Home Economics during their centennial celebration. During WWII, Walter served as Battalion Commander in the First Infantry Division and was highly decorated. After WWII, he was part of the reorganization of the NM National Guard culminating his service as the Commanding General of the 111th Artillery Brigade. Walter spent 17 years as an Agricultural Extension Agent with BIA-United Pueblo Agency. He retired from the Department of Agriculture as the State Director of Farmers Home Administration. At age 50 he entered a career in real estate and the appraisal field. He was a life member of the Albuquerque Board of Realtors, and assisted with the creation of the Farm Managersťand Rural Appraisersť Society and the New Mexico Section of the Range Management Society. He worked for Bernalillo County for four years, serving as County Manager before retiring. Walter was a charter and life member of the North Albuquerque Lion's Club. Lion Nations served as District Governor and President of the Past District GovernorsťAssociation. He was an avid golfer, belonging to New Mexico Men's Golf Association; the Albuquerque Golf Association; and the Old Timersť Association. From their inceptions, Walter was active with the Christian Student Center at UNM; and the Albuquerque Christian Children's Home. Walter was a member of Montgomery Church of Christ. Services will be held Friday, 10:00 a.m., at French Mortuary, University Blvd. Chapel, 1111 University Blvd. NE, with Mike Manley, Minister officiating. Interment will take place at 1:00 p.m., at Santa Fe National Cemetery. Nizzi -- Katherine Mary Nizzi, 84, a resident of Albuquerque since 1946, passed away Monday, August 14, 2000 after a long illness. She is survived by her husband, John U. Nizzi of the family home; granddaughter, Toni Ann Mora and husband, Tom of CA; grandson, John Joseph Nizzi and wife, Monica; their mother Carol Nizzi; great-grandson, Jonathan Zachery Nizzi, all of Albuquerque; brothers, Angelo Bracco and wife, Tina of Monterey, CA, Albert D. Bracco of El Paso, TX; sister, Albina Bonacquisti of Colorado Springs, CO; and several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Nizzi was preceded in death by her son, John W. Nizzi. Born in Torino, Italy on May 15, 1916, she attended Delagua and Trinidad High Schools. She came to the United States in 1927 and married John Nizzi on June 23, 1935 at Mt. Carmel Church in Trinidad, CO. Mrs. Nizzi was a member of Our Lady of The Assumption Catholic Church. Rexroad -- Gayle"Rex" Rexroad, age 79, born January 1, 1921, went to be with our Lord, August 13, 2000. Survived by beloved wife of 50 years, Dona Evelyn Rexroad; two daughters, Dana Louise Koehn and husband, Randy, Dona Gayle Watson and husband, John; three grandchildren, Jona, Ryan, and Lynee Watson. Preceded in death by father, Aubry Rexroad and mother, Louise Rexroad. The love Rex gave will always abide in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. Rivera -- Clara M. Rivera, 85, passed away August 12, 2000. She was a longtime resident of New Mexico, loved to paint, knit, and was an assistant nurse at Bataan Hospital for many years. He is also survived his grandparents, Mrs. Efren Saavedra and Mr. and Mrs. Henry Chavez; his brothers, Ruben Samuel Saavedra, Richard Samuel Saavedra; uncles and aunts, Erwin and Rosemary Saavedra, Robert Olivares, Efren Saavedra Jr., Richard Saavedra, Paul Saavedra, Anthony and Jennifer Saavedra; nieces, Justine and Cheyenne Saavedra; and several cousins. Services will be held on Thursday, August, 17, 7:00 p.m., at Holy Family Church, 562 Atrisco Dr. SW, Albuquerque.

Schuette -- Henry F. Schuette, 46, passed away August 9, 2000. Henry was preceded in death by his father, John; mother, Helen; and brother, Dennis. He is survived by his loving wife, Pam; son, Scott; daughter, Stephanie; sister, Theresa of Illinois; brothers, John of Ohio, Carl and Michael of Illinois, Joseph and his wife, Diane of Georgia. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and lots of friends. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him. Services and interment are pending. Valencia -- Louis (Luigi) A. Valencia, 51, a lifelong resident of Albuquerque, died on August 13, 2000. He is survived by his wife, Pasty Valencia; two daughters, Michelle Gallegos husband, Desi, and Melissa Valencia; one son, Louis Anthony Valencia, Jr.; eight grandchildren; and many brothers and sisters.
