Ervin -- Raymond F. Ervin, a resident of Bosque Farms, passed away on Tuesday, May 2, 2000, after a long illness. He was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Peralta. Ray retired from the U.S. Navy after 22 years of outstanding and dedicated service, retiring as an Aircraft Mechanic and a Flight Engineer. He retired from the Civil Service at Kirtland Air Force Base. He was an avid outdoorsman and never missed a chance to go hunting and fishing. He was preceded in death by his father and mother, Maurice L. Ervin and Gertrude M. Briggs. He is survived by his loving wife of 37 years, Jo Ann of the family home in Bosque Farms; two children, Wendy Petersdorff and her husband, Rick of Jacksonville, FL and John A. Ervin and his wife, Laura of Virginia Beach, VA; three grandchildren, Joseph, Felicia, and Sean; three sisters, Theresa Bechtold, Marie Vider, and Loretta Zeman and her husband, Charles, all of Pueblo, CO; three brothers, Larry Ervin and his wife, Lee, Charles Briggs and his wife, Patti, all of Pueblo, CO, and Patrick Briggs and his wife, Joanie of Spring, TX; sister-in-law, Olga McBride of Pueblo, CO. Ray is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews. A Rosary will be held on Sunday, 6:00 p.m., at Romero Funeral Home. A Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, 10:00 a.m., at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. Interment will follow in the Santa Fe National Cemetery at 11:30 a.m. Pallbearers will be his son, John, his son-in-law, Rick, his grandson, Joseph Martinez, Garry Boyd, Robert Chavira, and Vidal Blea.
