Vallejos -- Alejandro (Alex) Vallejos, 78, a beloved and devoted husband, father, grandfather, and brother, was called home to be with the Lord Saturday, October 14, 2000. Mr. Vallejos was born in Punta de Agua, NM to the late Francisco and Maria Inez Vallejos; he was a proud Veteran of the United States Army who served his county during World War II; and enjoyed spending time with his loving family. Mr. Vallejos was preceded in death by a son, Frank Vallejos. He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Esther Vallejos of the family home; his loving children, Alfredo Vallejos and wife, Rachel of Socorro, NM, Miquela Vallejos, Mary Alice Baca, Berna Garcia, Merlinda Mirabal and husband, Eddie, Yvonne Toledo and husband, Gilbert, Gracious Romero and husband, Jimmy, Alex Vallejos Jr., Peter Vallejos, Debbie Vallejos and Caroline Vallejos; 61 precious grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Also surviving are one sister, Maria V. Chacon; nieces; and nephews. He will be greatly missed by his loving family and those who knew and loved him. Visitations will today, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., in the Chapel of Garcia Mortuary, where a Prayer Service will be conducted tonight at 7:00 p.m. Funeral Services will be conducted Wednesday morning at 11:00 a.m. also in the chapel, with the Reverend Richard Mansfield officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Casket bearers will be Frankie Vallejos, Luciano Griego, Jessie Romero, Francisco Garcia, T.W. Mirabal, Emeliano Vallejos, Jimmy F. Romero, Alex Vallejos III, Pete Vallejos, Enrique Mirabal, and Frank Delgado. Honorary bearers will be Nacho Vallejos, Paul Garcia III, George Gonzales, and Frank Chacon.
