Hardy -- Former Albuquerque business woman, Mary Fern Hardy, passed away on January 6, 2000 in Woodward, Oklahoma at the age 87. On July 9, 1931, she married Bernard Franklin Crader, and to this union two children were born. On October 6, 1951, she was married to Walter W. Hardy in Albuquerque, where they built, owned and operated the Robin Hood Inn restaurant, and later Hardy's Steak House at 4108 S.W. Central Avenue. She retired from Hardy's Steak House in 1973. She is survived by seven grandchildren, Vanessa Brewington, Vance and Lisa Crader, all of Woodward, Nick and Teresa Bitner of Rio Rancho, Colleen and Bob Breeden of Moore, OK, Jan and Linda Bitner of Oklahoma City, OK, Cheryl and Tom Arundale of Albuquerque, and Craig Bitner of Arizona; three brothers, Paul Vance of Fredericktown, MO, Jerry and Jaudon Vance of Arcadia, MO, Luke and Peggy Vance of Elephant Butte, NM; Emanel Abernathy of St. Louis, and Pearl and Jim Sherrard of Austin, TX. She had 16 great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her two children, Laura Bitner and Vance Crader Sr.; one brother, Tom Vance; and one sister, Frieda Buscher. No services will be held, as she requested that her body be donated to medical research. Arrangements are under the direction of Billings Funeral Home, Woodward, Oklahoma.
