Bolie -- Earleen Dale Bolie, 78, a resident of Albuquerque for 29 years, died Sunday, January 9, 2000. She is survived by her husband, Victor, a former U.S.A.F. Pilot and engineering professor. Earleen Dale Bolie was born in Fort Dodge, IA of parents, Birdie Marie Swanson and Earl Clifton Dale, a WWI Veteran. Following her childhood years in Montana, the family moved back to Iowa where she graduated as Valedictorian from Kanawha High School. She then earned teacher certification and the BA degree from the University of Northern Iowa in 1944, and served for 12 years as a high school teacher at successively advancing locations in Iowa and Minnesota. Following graduate studies at Stanford and Iowa State, she received the MS degree with state certification in educational guidance, and thereafter served for five years as counselor at Anaheim, CA and Stillwater, OK. Throughout her career of working with young people in a variety of assignments, Earleen was well known for her enthusiasm and dedication. She will be missed for her cheerful outlook for the coming generations. Services will be held Thursday, 10:00 a.m., at French Mortuary, Wyoming Blvd. Chapel, 7121 Wyoming Blvd. NE. Bourque -- Robert Gaston Bourque, 88, a resident of Rio Rancho for the past 12 years, passed away on Saturday, January 8, 2000. Robert was born June 22, 1911, the son of Domino and Angelique Begin Bourque in Wolton Province de Quebec, Canada. Robert had worked as a heat treater for the Halo-Krome Company before he retired. Robert was the last of 15 children. He was also preceded in death by one daughter, Andree Bourque in 1999. Robert is survived by his wife, Cecile of Rio Rancho; one daughter, Collette Smith and husband, Charles of Rio Rancho; one brother-in-law, Roland Benoit of Connecticut; sisters-in-law, Yvette Foley and Rita Glen of Montreal, Canada; one grandson, Michael R. Smith and wife, Monica of Rio Rancho; two great-grandchildren, Michael and Michelle of Rio Rancho; ten nephews and nieces in Canada and Florida. Visitation and Rosary will be held on Thursday, January 13, 2000 at 7:00 p.m. in the chapel of Vista Verde Mortuary, Sara Rd., at Meadowlark Ln., Rio Rancho, with the Mass of Christian Burial on Friday, January 14, 2000, 10:30 a.m., at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church. Brady -- Duane R. Brady, 52, a resident of Albuquerque since 1986, died Tuesday, January 11, 2000. He is survived by his wife of 29 years, Ila R. Brady of the family home; son, Duane R. Dowdney -- Kenneth"Ken" Dowdney, 67, a resident of Albuquerque and Farmington, and a resident of New Mexico since 1958, died Monday, January 10, 2000. He is survived by his fiancee, Alicia O. Eiland of Albuquerque; brother, Rev. C.B. Dowdney and wife, Beatrice of Surrency, GA; sisters, Grace Ellis and husband, F.W., Mildred Gilley, Petronia Spann and Muriel Shelton, all of Columbus, GA; and numerous nieces and nephews. Mr. Dowdney lived primarily in Farmington, he also resided in Albuquerque and in Santa Fe. He was a member of U.A. Local #412 for over 45 years; was a member of Elks Club #1747; and was a lifetime member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. Mr. Dowdney served in the Korean War with the Tank Company 9th Infantry. Eatough -- Melvin G. (Buzz) Eatough, 76, beloved husband and father, and always the gentleman, passed away Tuesday, January 11, 2000, after a lengthy illness. He is survived by his wife, Betty of Albuquerque; children, Mike Eatough and wife, Tonya Taylor also of Albuquerque, Joyce Passon of La Porte, TX and Richard Eatough also of Texas; 12 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren; sister, June of Kaysville, UT; brothers, Floyd of Opal, WY, Dean of Lynndel, UT, and Keith of Elko, NV. He was preceded in death by his children's mother, Zelma; and brother, Don. Mel was born in Silver City, Ut on Valentines Day, February 14, 1923, also his mother's birthday. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of WWII. Mel was a miner at heart, using his mining skills and wonderful personality to sell mining equipment throughout the world, as well as in the U.S. His travels took him all over South America, Mexico, and Malaysia. Mel also spent 30 years living and traveling in Colorado. He was National Accounts Manager for Gardner Denver Mining Equipment Company when he retired in 1980. Mel spent the next 12 years freelancing his services to several mining equipment companies until he retired"for real" in 1992. Esquivel -- Mr. Hildo J. Esquivel, a resident of Albuquerque for 60 of his 80 years, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 11, 2000. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Dorothy Esquivel; four children, Christine Ayala, Richard Esquivel, Michael Esquivel and Bev Chavez; son-in-law, Larry Chavez; six grandchildren, Lisa and Ken Ayala, Leanne and Milo Esquivel, Angela Esquivel and Erin Chavez; one sister, Barbara Esquivel; one brother, Victor Esquibel; and many loving relatives. A Rosary will be recited on Thursday, January 13, 7:00 p.m., at St. Francis Xavier Church. Garcia -- Orlando Garcia, 58, a longtime resident of Albuquerque, passed away January 11, 2000. Giannini -- Ray C. Giannini, 58, a lifelong resident of Albuquerque, died suddenly on Saturday, January 8, 2000. He was born on October 5, 1941 in Albuquerque. Ray graduated in 1959 from St. Mary's High School, where he played football, basketball and baseball. He attended the University of Notre Dame and graduated from the University of New Mexico. Ray began his coaching and teaching career at Our Lady of Fatima School. In 1969, he became Head Football Coach and also taught Math at St. Pius X High School; he was appointed Athletic Director in 1973. Ray held both positions from 1973-1988. During his career at St. Pius, Coach"G" and his team brought the State AAA Football Title to Albuquerque for the first time. His teams compiled a record of 147-52-2 and had losing records only twice during his 19 years as coach. His football teams qualified for the state playoffs 11 of his last 12 years as coach, and he was named Coach of the Year in 1983 and 1984. After leaving St. Pius, Ray became an insurance agent and opened a State Farms office in Albuquerque. Ray was known for his passion for sports, love of coaching, competitive spirit, quick wit and sense of humor. He will be remembered for his unique ability to motivate his players and students to be the best that they could be. Ray will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. He is survived by his daughter, Kristie Montoya and husband, Ike; four beloved grandchildren, Mikayla, Derek, Zeke and Jordan Montoya, all of Deming; mother, Mary Lou Farinelli; brothers, Tom Giannini and wife, Sandra and Steve Farinelli and wife, Sara; sisters, Marilyn Lovato and husband, Tony and Barbara Giannini, all of Albuquerque; sister-in-law, Nancy Giannini of Ft. Sumner; step-brother, Michael Farinelli and wife, Judy of Kansas City, KS; and step-sister, Roseanne O'Shields and husband, Wade of Shelby, NC; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Ray was preceded in death by his father, Ray Giannini Sr.; and young brother, Richard Giannini. Hansberry -- Edna E. Hansberry, 78, a resident of Los Lunas, passed away on January 10, 2000. She was born in Yellow Jacket, Colorado on March 11, 1921. She later married John Hansberry in Durango, Colorado on February 11, 1938. She was preceded in death by her brother, Claud Kennedy. She is survived by her loving husband, John; sons, Donald and Gerald Hansberry; daughters, Mary Wiltrout, Marlene Thomas and her husband, Rufus, Shirley and George Kotlan; her brothers, Edward, Loren and Kennedy Ewing; her sister, Lorene O'Brien; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Hardy -- Former Albuquerque business woman, Mary Fern Hardy, passed away on January 6, 2000 in Woodward, Oklahoma at the age 87. On July 9, 1931, she married Bernard Franklin Crader, and to this union two children were born. On October 6, 1951, she was married to Walter W. Hardy in Albuquerque, where they built, owned and operated the Robin Hood Inn restaurant, and later Hardy's Steak House at 4108 S.W. Central Avenue. She retired from Hardy's Steak House in 1973. She is survived by seven grandchildren, Vanessa Brewington, Vance and Lisa Crader, all of Woodward, Nick and Teresa Bitner of Rio Rancho, Colleen and Bob Breeden of Moore, OK, Jan and Linda Bitner of Oklahoma City, OK, Cheryl and Tom Arundale of Albuquerque, and Craig Bitner of Arizona; three brothers, Paul Vance of Fredericktown, MO, Jerry and Jaudon Vance of Arcadia, MO, Luke and Peggy Vance of Elephant Butte, NM; Emanel Abernathy of St. Louis, and Pearl and Jim Sherrard of Austin, TX. She had 16 great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her two children, Laura Bitner and Vance Crader Sr.; one brother, Tom Vance; and one sister, Frieda Buscher. Harrison -- John F. Harrison, 75, a resident of Albuquerque since 1990, formerly of Crompond, New York, died Saturday, November 27, 1999. He is survived by his children, Soctt Harrison of California, Dean Harrison of New York and Jo Ann D'Andrea of Virginia; his former wife, Elizabeth Schweizer of California; and three grandchildren, Luke Harrison, Mariel D'Andrea and Grace D'Andrea. His wife, Catherine L. Harrison preceded him in death. Mr. Harrison served in the U.S. Army in WWII as a Tank Commander in the 80th Tank Batallion of the 8th Amored. He retired from the Army National Guard in 1976 with the rank of Major. Mr. Harrison was an active member of Mesa View United Methodist Church and the Optimist Club of Albuquerque, Club #19010. Memorial Services will be held Saturday, January 15, 2000 at 10:30 a.m. at French Mortuary, Wyoming Blvd. Chapel, 7121 Wyoming NE, with Rev. John Schwarting officiating. Hinds -- Mildred M. (Cobb) Hinds, age 83, died January 12, 2000 in Duncan, Oklahoma. She had lived in Albuquerque since 1949, where she was a member of the First Christian Church. Mildred moved back to Marlow, OK in 1997, where she was born. Survivors include her niece, Chris Hollis and her husband, Bill of Albuquerque. Graveside services will be held on Saturday, January 15, 2000 at 2:00 p.m. in the Marlow Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Callaway-Smith-Cobb Funeral Home of Marlow, OK.

King -- Joshua D. King, 14, a resident of Albuquerque since 1987, passed away on Sunday, January 9, 2000 at University Medical Center in Tucson, Arizona, following a courageous two year battle with Leukemia. Leeke -- Leonard W. Leeke, a resident of Albuquerque since 1992, passed away Saturday, January 1, 2000. He was born in Detroit, MI, June 12, 1913. Mr. Leeke was preceded in death by his wife, Virginia Leeke in July of 1991; and by his son, Lyle Leeke in 1990. Survivors include his grandson, William Leeke and wife, Heather of Chicago, IL; his daughter-in-law, Miriam Leeke of Montague, MI; his sister, Dorothy Berry of Albuquerque; nephews, Donald Berry and wife, Diane of Albuquerque and William Berry Calabasas, CA; and many friends. Maldonado -- Mr. David J. Maldonado died Tuesday at the age of 37. David is survived by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Joe Maldonado and Mr. and Mrs. Robert Garcia; wife, Kathy Maldonado; sons, Nathan Maldonado, Carlos Maldonado and Frank Baca; daughters, Melissa Baca, Fay Maldonado, Monique Maldonado, Chantel Legarreta and Brandi Maldonado; six brothers; and five sisters. Montoya -- David M. Montoya, 42, a resident of Albuquerque, passed away. He is survived by his parents, Walter R. Montoya and Erlinda Montoya, both of Albuquerque; three brothers, Richard Montoya of Santa Fe, Mark Montoya of Albuquerque, and Paul Montoya; one sister, Dianne Brown and husband, Larry also of Albuquerque; his paternal grandmother, Lucy Montoya of Anthony, NM; maternal grandmother, Magdalena Montoya of Albuquerque; two nieces, Angelique Chavez and husband, Salvador of Santa Fe and Paula Montoya of Albuquerque; nephews, Ricky Montoya of Santa Fe and Adam Carter of Albuquerque; one grandnephew, Jerrod Chavez of Santa Fe. Narayan -- Venkat I. Narayan, M.D., age 51, of Santa Fe, died on Sunday, January 9, 2000, following a short illness. Dr. Narayan was born on November 12, 1948, in Madras, India. He completed his neurology training in Albuquerque and did his neurosurgery training in Syracuse, NY. He then came to Santa Fe where he maintained his practice in neurosurgery for 16 years. He is survived by his children, Christopher Narayan and Sara Narayan, both of Santa Fe; ex-wife, Cynthia Narayan of Santa Fe; brother, Norman Chidambaram of Vancouver, B.C.; sister, Seetha and husband, Jaya and husband, and Preema and husband, all of Madras, India; two very special friends, Glenn Jarvis and Bill Montoya, and numerous cousins, other relatives and friends in the United States and India. Noel -- Earl B. Noel, 78, of Fort Collins, Colorado, died Monday, January 10, 2000, at Poudre Valley Hospital following a brief illness. A Funeral will be on Thursday, 4:00 p.m., January 13, 2000, at the Bohlender Funeral Chapel. Pastor John Dubler will officiate. Earl Noel was born in Georgetown, Kentucky on February 24, 1921 to Sewell B. and Mary L. Noel. His family later moved to Pendleton, Indiana, where he graduated from Pendleton High School in 1939. During World War II, he enlisted in the U.S. Army, serving in the Philippines and earning a Purple Heart for injuries sustained in battle. He lived most of his life in Albuquerque, where he worked as an electrician and then as a security guard for Sandia National Laboratories, retiring in 1983. Mr. Noel was an avid fisherman. He enjoyed traveling, motorcycles, sports, reading the Bible, church activities and being around and caring for his family. He made it his life's advocation to make friends and be generous to people, wherever he was. He and his wife, Dorothy moved to Fort Collins in 1993 to be close to their family after she became ill. He was her caregiver until her death in 1998. Survivors include his two sons, Danny Noel of Frederick, MD and Rick Fletcher of Fort Collins, CO; a sister, Pauline Taylor of Albuquerque; his daughter-in-law, Ellen Fletcher; and three grandchildren of Fort Collins; and numerous nieces and nephews. Preceding him in death were his parents; his wife, Dorothy Noel; a previous wife, Margaret Hurst; his sister, Grace Hall; and his brother, George Robert Noel. Memorial contributions, which will be used for mission outreach activities, may be made to Good Shepherd Bible Chapel, in care of Bohlender Funeral Chapel in Fort Collins.

Singleton -- Howard Singleton, 77, a resident of Albuquerque since 1956, died Monday, January 10, 2000. He is survived by his daughters, Janet Cook and husband, John of Spokane, WA, Linda Pinkham and husband, Randy of Altus, OK and Cathy Claggett of Albuquerque; sons, Howard A. Singleton and wife, Sharyn, Brian A. Singleton and wife, Lisa, all of Albuquerque and David L. Singleton and wife, Pam of Midwest City, OK; nine grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and sister, Evelyn Baker of Lima, OH. He was preceded in death by his wife, Irene Singleton in 1996. Mr. Singleton graduated from the University of Houston, College of Technology. He worked at Sandia National Laboratories for over 23 years, retiring with a medical retirement in May 1980. Mr. Singleton entered the U.S. Navy in October 1941 and retired with a medical discharge in April 1946 as an Electrician's Mate First Class, serving in England on a ship repair base. He was a member of Faith Lutheran Church. Mr. Singleton was also a member of the Tumbleweed R.V. Club and loved to travel. Cremation has taken place and Memorial Services will be held Friday, 10:00 a.m. at Faith Lutheran Church, 10000 Spain NE, with Pastor Bruce Wilder officiating. Tafoya -- Dominic B. Tafoya, 22, a resident of Albuquerque, passed away January 9, 2000. Dominic was a graduate of Rio Grande High School. He was also awarded several scholarships. He attended college at Yale University in New Haven, Connecticut. He was preceded in death by his father, Johnny Tafoya. He was the beloved son of Marie Martinez; two brothers, Johnny and wife, Leslie Tafoya, and Daniel Tafoya; three nieces, Ashley, Alexis and baby Amanda; two grandmothers, Josie Zamora and Veronica Tafoya; and many uncles, aunts, cousins and close friends who loved him and will miss him. Cremation burial will be at San Jose de Armijo Cemetery on Saturday, January 15, 2000 at 10:00 a.m. Last Prayer will be given by Deacon Charles Lucero. Tapia -- William John Tapia, 74, a resident of Albuquerque, died Sunday, January 9, 2000. He is survived by his wife, Mary Evangeline; a son, Louie H. Tapia and wife, Patricia of Albuquerque; daughter, Marcia C. Tapia of Albuquerque; sisters, Katie Almanzar of Cleveland, NM, Teresa Vigil of Albuquerque, and Velma Padilla and husband, John of Las Vegas, NM. Mr. Tapia was preceded in death by a daughter, Alma Jean and; a son, William L. Tapia. Mr. Tapia was born in Las Vegas, NM, graduated from Robertson High, and attended Highlands University. He retired from the US Postal service in 1978. He was a member of Our Lady of Fatima, a lifetime member of Disabled American Veterans and the Veterans of Foreign Wars. Thorp -- Weldon Burt Thorp Jr., 39, a resident of Albuquerque for nine years, died Monday, January 10, 2000 at his home. He is survived by his parents, Weldon B. and Phylliss Thorp of Albuquerque; wife, Carolyn Thorp of Albuquerque; two sons, Joshua and Tyler Thorp; sister, Talasia Tucker and husband, Roger of Albuquerque. He was born in Altus, Oklahoma, raised in California, and relocated to Albuquerque in 1990. Burt owned his own company, New Mexico Alarms. He loved his children very much. Burt attended Calvary Chapel of Albuquerque. He enjoyed cooking, baseball and sailing. He will be greatly missed. Funeral services for Burt will be held on Friday at Calvary Chapel, where the service will begin at 2:00 p.m. Burial will follow at the Gate of Heaven Cemetery. Vigil -- Thomas Vigil, a resident of Rio Rancho, passed away following an illness. He is survived by his wife, Rachel Vigil; also surviving are his children, Bonita (Bunny) Vigil Martinez, Rebecca Vigil, Laurie Vigil-Kirk and husband, Jim, Thomas Vigil, and wife Leslie, Edwin Vigil, Tania Vigil and Fiance Don, Joe L. Dominguez and wife, Maria Elena, and Geri Martinez and husband, Freddie. He is survived by Goddaughter, Amanda Vigil; 14 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Also surviving are a brother, Filimon Vigil and wife, Doris; and four sisters, Rose Bergen and husband, Jack, Inez Otero and husband, Vicente, Gloria Barela and husband, Isidro, and Josephine Ibarra and husband, Luis. Mr. Vigil attended the Pecos Public Schools and the University of Albuquerque. He was a Veteran, serving in the Marine Corps during the Vietnam and Korean Conflict. He loved his family and enjoyed fishing, wood carving, traveling, camping, and yardwork. He was a life member of the D.A.V. He was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Christina Romero; and his son, Ruben Dominguez. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated this morning, 9:00 a.m., also at the church with the Rev. Fr. Baca as Celebrant. Interment to follow at the Santa Fe National Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Brian Martinez, Chris Martinez, Jacob Mallow, Michael Cordova, Joe Dominguez Jr. and Jason Martinez.
