Maixner -- Celestine Maixner, 73, a resident of Rio Rancho for the past 28 years, passed away Wednesday, January 5, 2000. Celestine was born April 6, 1926, the daughter of Lorence and Mary Kantor Maixner in Bee, Nebraska. She had worked as a nurse at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Nebraska and in New Mexico for a total of 45 years before retiring. Celestine is survived by three sisters, Frances Jeske of Rio Rancho, Marie Kelley of Mountain Home, AR, Willamina Savage of Warsau, IN; two brothers, Joe Maixner and wife, Eldine of Ft. Collins, CO and Roman Lee Maixner of Milwaukee, WI. The visitation will be on Friday, January 7, 2000, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., with the Rosary being recited at 7:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Vista Verde Mortuary, Sara Rd., at Meadowlark Ln., Rio Rancho, with the Mass of Christian Burial being celebrated on Saturday, January 8, 2000, 10:30 a.m., at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church. Entombment will follow in the Floral Garden Mausoleum in Vista Verde Memorial Park. Arrangements by Vista Verde Mortuary, Rio Rancho.
