Brown -- Audie William Brown, 90, a resident of Albuquerque, went to be with the Lord on January 4, 2000. He was born on October 8, 1909 in Elmore City,, OK to Arthur William and Ollie Mae (Burton) Brown. After graduating from Pernell High School in 1928 he moved to Ada, OK to attend East Central State College where he earned Bachelor and Master degrees. He moved to New Mexico in 1965. Mr. Brown was a teacher and school administrator for the Bureau of Indian Affairs, retiring in 1973. He was a devout Christian and member of the Bosque Farms Church of Christ. For many years, he served as a Sunday School teacher and Deacon of the Southwest Church of Christ in Ada, OK and an Elder of the Gallup Church of Christ in Gallup, NM. A kind and devoted husband and father, he was a tower of strength to his family. Mr. Brown is survived by a son, Wayne Brown and wife, Sue; daughter, Carolyn Brown, all of Albuquerque; grandchildren, Aaron and Hillary Brown, and Trent Burton and wife, Karin, all of Albuquerque, Aimee Brown of Los Angeles, CA; brothers, Earnie Brown and wife, Verda and Darvis Brown and wife, Ida Mae, all of Moore, OK; a niece and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife of 59 years, Hassell Priscilla Brown and a granddaughter, Heather Brown. Services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, January 8, 2000 in the Chester T. French Memorial Mausoleum Chapel at Sunset Memorial Park, 924 Menaul Blvd. NE. Roger Holm will officiate. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park. Friends may visit on Friday, January 7, 2000 from 4:00 and 6:00 p.m. at French Mortuary, 10500 Lomas Blvd. NE. Should friends desire, memorial contributions may be made to Bosque Farms Church of Christ, P.O. Box 152, Peralta, NM 87042.
