Greene -- Harold Hoyt Greene, 85, a resident of Mountainair, NM since 1918, passed away Wednesday, January 5, 2000 in Belen, NM. Harold was born May 18, 1914 in Artesia, NM to John Reese and Esther Gertrude (Perkins) Greene. He married Roberta Mae Bates on November 6, 1932 in Mountainair, NM, she preceded him in death on April 23, 1999. Harold was a member of the Assembly of God Church in Mountainair, NM and was a mechanic in Mountainair for many years. He will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend. Mr. Greene is survived by three sons and daughters-in-law, Jerry Lee and Carol Greene, Jack Hoyt and Rosemary Greene, and Jim Y. and Dorothy Greene; one daughter, Sylvia Jo-An Greene; one brother, Donald Lee Greene; eight grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. Harold will lie in state Friday, January 7, 2000, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., at Harris-Hanlon Mortuary in Mountainair, NM. Funeral services will be held Sunday, January 9, 2000, 2:00 p.m., at the Harris-Hanlon Mortuary Chapel in Mountainair, NM, with Rev. James Thompson and Vernie Wells officiating. Burial will follow in the Mountainair Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Jason Sonnenberg, Lonnie Greene, Travis Greene, Jim L. Greene, Lee Greene, Joe Dunn and Rod Greene. Honorary pallbearers will be Chris and John Lory. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to the Harris-Hanlon Mortuary in Mountainair, NM.
