Tillman -- Harriet Belle Tillman, a resident of Albuquerque since 1947 died December 25, 2002. She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Celeste Forster; two brothers, Fred and Mark; and husbands, Edward Charles (Mac) McNeely and John E. Tillman. She is survived by her daughter, Therese Moore and her husband, Douglas Moore; and grandsons, Timothy and Peter of Albuquerque; cousins, Celeste Lemke of Silver City, Ada Jane Cross and husband, Ben of Mesa, AZ Don Forster and wife, Doris and Fern Courtney of Denver CO. Harriet was born August 25, 1923 in Denver CO. She grew up in Hurley and Silver City, NM and married E.C. McNeely in Nov. 1947. They had one daughter, Terrie. Following Mac's death in 1966, Harriet returned to work as a secretary for A.P.S. serving at Madison, Cleveland and Monroe Middle Schools. She retired in 1983 to become a full-time mother and grandmother as well as a surrogate mother for many of the friends that she had made while working at A.P.S. In 1988 Harriet married John Tillman. Together they traveled extensively and spoiled their grandsons. Harriet was an avid Bridge player. She was a charter member of Christ United Methodist Church and was active in many church activities. Following John Tillman's death in 1993 Harriet became reacquainted with an old friend Lloyd Hughes who was a dear companion for the last several years. Together they RV'd to various locales around the U.S. and into Mexico. A Memorial Service will be held at Christ United Methodist Church on Dec. 30, 2002 at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Larry Castillo Wilson presiding. A reception at the church will follow the service. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made to The Storehouse, Women's Community Association, or Christ United Methodist Church.
