Garcia -- Jesus R. Garcia, 93, passed away January 16, 2002. He was a resident of Albuquerque since 1912 and was an accomplished cobbler, owning his own shop on 2nd Street near Downtown. He enjoyed gardening, music, reading, bread making, and wine making. Jesus was an active and devout Catholic. He was preceded in death by his wife Refugia"Cuca" Garcia in 1979 and is survived by his children Rosemarie Tafoya and husband Anthony, Abel Garcia, Mary Macias and husband Elias; grandchildren Dav, Armando, Jabi, Annamarie, Anthony, and Carolyn; great grandchildren Andrea, Antonio, Virginia, Angela, Joshua, Kristian, Pedro, Diego, and Kaitlin; favorite nieces Pauline, Martha, and Lucy; nephew Raymond; numerous other family and friends who loved and will miss him. Services will be held at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church. A rosary will be recited at 7:00pm on Friday, January 18, 2002. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 12:00 noon on Saturday, January 19, 2002 with burial following at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Arrangements by Direct Funeral Services 2919 4th ST. NW.
