C' De Baca -- Dolores M. C' De Baca, went home to be with the Lord on January 17, 2002 after a long illness. She was born on December 22, 1934. She is preceded in death by her mother Effie, father John and brother Donald. Dolores recently retired from Albuquerque Public Schools after a 42 year career as an elementary school teacher. She spent two years in La Selina, Venezuela, SA teaching for a Standard Oil Co. Dolores, who never married, considered her students to be her children and was very proud to tell us she had thousands of children. Dolores loved small animals, she had dogs, cats, birds, fish and all sorts of pets. She was a member of the Albuquerque Animal Humane Society. Dolores had a passionate love for the Lord. She was a parishioner of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Albuquerque, NM and served as a Lector, Eucharistic Minister and was active with the Third Order of St. Francis, Catholic Daughters of America, Legion of Mary, Rosary Society and other groups. She will be missed by her family, friends and colleagues; however, her spirit will be protecting us in Heaven. Dolores is survived by her close friend and companion, Mr. Charlie Castro; her sister Mrs. Doris Martinez and husband Lawrence, nephews Lawrence Jr., Anthony and wife Angela, Mark, Christopher and Ronnie, niece Mary Jean and husband; brothers Pierre Gonzales and wife Grace, nephews Pierre Jr. and wife Renee, Matthew and wife Ida June, niece Sharon and husband David Duran; brother John C' De Baca and wife Molly, nephews John Thomas, Augustine Paul, nieces Ann-Marie Victoria and husband Leo Chavez, Christina Theresa, Julie Faith and husband William Martinez; other relatives include Mary Baca, Helen and husband Marvin Christensen, the Encinias Family, plus numerous other grand nieces, nephews and cousins. Visitations will be on Friday, January 18, 2002 in the 8th Street Chapel of Garcia Mortuary from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. A Rosary will be recited on Friday evening also in the 8th Street Chapel of Garcia Mortuary at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, January 19, 2002 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church at 9:00 a.m. Mass and Rosary will be officiated by Rev. Louis J. Lambert, SJ. Interment will follow at the family plot with her mother and father at the San Antonito Cemetery in Las Vegas, NM. Pallbearers will be Augustine P. C' De Baca, John Thomas C' De Baca, Lawrence Martinez, Anthony Martinez, Mark Martinez, Christopher Martinez, Ronnie Martinez, Pierre Gonzales Jr. and Matthew Gonzales. Services are in the care of Garcia Mortuary 717 Stover Ave. S.W. 243-5222.
