Lucero -- Theodora (Dora) A. Lucero, born June 20, 1918 in Clayton, New Mexico. A resident of Albuquerque for 67 years, died on February 19, 2002. She is survived by her loving family, Joe A. Lucero her husband, of the family home; two daughters, Kathy B. Lucero of Albuquerque and Rosalinda Karolek and husband, Charles of Wheaton, Illinois; her grandchildren, Javier Lucero of Albuquerque, Carla Byrne of Palo Alto, CA., Eric Karolek of Bollingbrook, Il and Marisa Karolek of Aurora, IL; her great-grandchildren, Alexa, Colin, Christina and Brett; her sisters, Peggy Scarton and husband, Oliver of Albuquerque, Odelia ¯Odie¯ Luna of Albuquerque, Vivian Perez of Bernalillo and Mae Garcia of Albuquerque; a brother, Florence Padilla and wife, Gertrude of Albuquerque. Theodora is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her brothers, Alfred Armijo and Joe (Uncle Lou) Armijo. Besides being a wonderful homemaker and mother, Theodora was known for the hospitality that she shared with many over the years. She was a member of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Mission Church where she served as a Catechist and was an integral part of the church community for many years. Theodora was also a member of the American G.I. Forum Women's Auxiliary and former member of the Women¯s Elks Auxiliary (DOES) #2500, Rio Rancho, NM. Rosary will be recited on Friday, February 22, 2002 at 7:00 p.m. at French Mortuary ¯ Westside Chapel, 9300 Golf Course Rd. NW (3 blocks North of Paseo Del Norte) with Vivian Perez reciting the rosary. Friends may visit starting at 6:00 p.m. until time of rosary. Mass of Catholic burial will be Saturday at 10:00 a.m. at Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church, 9502 4th St. NW. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be made to The Kidney Foundation of New Mexico, 1715 Girard Blvd. NE, Albuquerque, NM 87106.
