Hembree -- Polly Hembree, 80, died Tuesday, March 12, 2002. She is survived by her sister, Dorothy Hodges of Albuquerque; step-daughter, Cathy Stevenson of Katie, TX; great nieces, Lisa A. Jones of Monticello, GA, and Lara M. Clark of Griffin, GA; great-great-nephews, Jerrod Thomas, Jeremy Thomas, and Colby Clark; and great-great niece, Jody Kaitlyn Clark. Ms. Hembree was preceded in death by her husband, Gus; and niece, Jody K. Helms. Polly was born in Durmright, OK to George Gresham and Mamie Burkett on April 22, 1921. Polly received a business degree from Tulsa Business College in Tulsa, OK. She relocated to Washington, D.C. in January 1942 and began a career with the US Fish & Wildlife Service, transferring to Albuquerque in November, 1942, and retiring in 1976. Graveside Services will be held Friday, March 15, 12:00 noon, at the Santa Fe National Cemetery, with Dr. Charles Crutchfield officiating. French Mortuary, 1111 University Blvd. NE.
