Stevens -- Margaret Stevens, born January 7, 1912 in Jerseyville, Illinois, passed away April 6, 2002 after a long illness. She was preceded in death by her parents, Marcus and Charlotte Post; a brother, Adrian Post all of Jerseyville, Illinois; and her husband of 40 years, Charles Rupert Stevens. Margaret was a lifetime member of th DAR and the Eastern Star. She was retired from the Internal Revenue Service. She was a member of the Bethel Sunday School Class and the Jolly Elders of St. Paul's Methodist Church. She is survived by her daughter, Constance John of Albuquerque, New Mexico; her son, Marcus Stevens and wife, Jane of Fort Lauderdale, Florida; five grandchildren, Robert and Charlotte John of Albuquerque. Cheryl Peck of Houston, Texas, Amy Cape of Ruidoso, New Mexico, and Justin Stevens, of Denver, Colorado. Mrs Stevens family wishes to express thanks for the loving care Margaret received while living at Manzano del Sol Nursing center and to Sandia Hospice. Creamation has taken place and no services are planned at this time.
