Godsey -- Lonnie E. Godsey passed away April 13, 2002 in El Paso, TX. He was born September 13, 1919 in Whitesboro, TX. Lonnie was past resident of Santa Fe and Albuquerque for many years. He was preceded in death by his wife, Dolores, parents, Ernest and Esther Godsey and brother, Crendon. Lonnie is survived by his son, Ernest Godsey and wife, Isabel of Santa Fe; daughters, Laura Salazar and husband, George of Albuquerque and Sandra Krantz and husband, Ron of El Paso, TX; grandchildren, Jerry, Manny Godsey, Robert Romero and wife, Elizabeth, Yvette and Zebbee Salazar, Genna Neff and husband, Lance, Ron and James Krantz; seven great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Tessie Garcia and husband, Johnny of Santa Fe, sister-in-law, Gloria Richards and husband, Sylvan of West Covina, CA and brother-in-law, Tony Herrera of Santa Fe and many nephews and nieces. Lonnie served in the U.S. Army during WW II and was awarded two Purple Hearts during his tour of duty. He worked for the General Contractors, Robert E. McGee and C.R. Davis for many years working through out the southwest and was hired as a Superintendent for Morrision-Knudson working in Vietnam, Saudi Arabia and Bengledesh before retiring. He loved his family and his community and was always there to lend a hand to his neighbors, friends and family. He was an avid sports fan and loved to play golf and fish. Rosary Thursday, 7:00 p.m. at 1417 Agua Fria, Guadaulupe Church, Santa Fe. Mass will be Friday, 10:00 a.m. at the church. Interment will follow at 11:30 a.m. Santa Fe National Cemetery.
