Mcgee -- Carl J. McGee, 85, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 14, 2002 with his loving wife, Linda, at his side. He was born on November 3, 1916 in Bayard, KS. He grew up in Kansas and was one of eight children. In 1943, Carl, with his twin brother, Charles, joined the U.S. Army and was proud to have served his country in WWII. He came to New Mexico in 1949 to work on the Route 66 project. He is survived by his wife, Linda; one sister, Christa of Kansas; four sons, Charley and wife, Kathy, Scott Turner and wife, Angela, Steven Turner and wife, Shari (all of Albuquerque), and Carl of Colorado; five grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by his parents, Cordellia and Edward; his brothers, Harold, Hugh, and Charles; his sisters, Delle, Lottie and Vera; and his son, William. Services will be held Sunday, May 19, 2002, at 3:30 p.m., at French Mortuary, Wyoming Blvd. Chapel, 7121 Wyoming Blvd. NE. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made, in his name, to the Animal Humane Association of NM, 615 Virginia SE, Albuquerque, NM, 87108. French Mortuary, 7121 Wyoming Blvd. NE.
