Kolberg -- Harvey George Kolberg, 87, a resident of Albuquerque, died Sunday, May 19, 2002. He is survived by his wife, Betty Ruth Kolberg; daughter, Sharon Joy Schmitz and husband, Martin; son, James Harvey Kolberg and wife, Linda of Arlington Heights, IL; granddaughter, Jeniffer Joy Strong and husband, Curtis Skye; grandson, James Ryan Kolberg; great-grandsons, Daniel Martin Strong and Caleb Skye Strong; sister, Irene Marcy and husband, Lloyd of Sun City, AZ; nephew, David Marcy and wife, Linda of Orlando, FL; cousins, Harold Stech of Chatham, IL and Kenneth Stech of Phoenix, AZ; step son, Lee Arnold Gann of Rio Rancho, NM; step daughter, Robin Ann Hall of Lincoln, AL; and other family members in Illinois, South Dakota and Florida. Mr. Kolberg was born in Chicago, IL. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving his country during WWII. Mr. Kolberg graduated from the American Institute of Banking in Chicago, IL, May 1951; North Western University School of Commerce in Evanston, IL, June 1951; and Stonier Graduate School of Banking at Rutgers University in New Jersey, June 1966. He retired after 43 years of loyal service, in 1975, from The First National Bank of Chicago, IL where he was a Vice-President. Mr. Kolberg volunteered with various service organizations; Service Corporation of Retired Executives, 1976-1991; Small Business Advisory Council, 1991-92; Score Executive in Residence, R.O. Anderson School of Management at the University of New Mexico; Board of Directors of Albuquerque Visiting Nurses Service Association; member of the Consumer Advisory Council with Public Service Company of New Mexico; Chairman and Treasurer of the Garfield Gospel Chapel Trustees, Albuquerque; Treasurer of the Chicago Missionary Study Class Association, Chicago, IL; and a Volunteer-on-Call with St. Joseph West Mesa Hospital, Albuquerque, retiring in June 1999. Services will be held Thursday, May 23, 2002, at 10:00 a.m., at Hoffmantown Church, 8888 Harper NE. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park, 924 Menaul Blvd. NE. Memorial contributions may be made to Scholarship fund, Southwest Bible Camp, PO. BOX 265, Glenwood, NM, 88039. Friends may visit French Mortuary, 7121 Wyoming Blvd. NE, Wednesday, May 22, 2002, from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
