Calame -- Larry B."Papa Bear" Calame, 69, a resident of Albuquerque since 1961, died Sunday, June 23, 2002. He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Bernie Calame of Albuquerque; daughters, Dolyn Jones and husband, Joey of Phoenix, AZ and Brenda Williams and husband, Greg of Albuquerque; grandson, Jerrett Williams of Albuquerque; granddaughter, Kyleigh Williams of Albuquerque; and many loving friends. Larry loved to travel, tell stories and was an avid race fan. He was kind and generous with a loving heart and had a soft spot for those in need. Larry was a proud husband, father, grandfather and a loyal friend to many. He was always happy for other people's accomplishments. Mr. Calame served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean Conflict. He worked for the Frisco Railroad and then worked for 39 years for TWA. After retiring, he worked at Spa and Billiard World. Services will be held Thursday, June 27, 2002, 7:00 p.m., at French Mortuary, Lomas Blvd. Chapel, 10500 Lomas Blvd. NE with Craig Davis officiating. Cremation will follow. Interment of cremains will take place at a later date. Friends may visit French Mortuary, 10500 Lomas Blvd. NE, Thursday, June 27, 2002, 5:00 p.m. until service time.
