Poindexter -- James William Poindexter, age 50, died in Albuquerque, NM on June 19, 2002. He was born in Anadarko, OK to Billy Ray and Gloria Glover Poindexter and moved from Granite, OK to Albuquerque in 1957. Mr. Poindexter was a jewelry designer and artist who loved to travel, especially in the West and Southwest regions. He painted and drew in the Zuni Southwest style in the mediums of acrylic and watercolor. He loved the outdoors and was a avid gardener with a definite"green thumb". He had a real fondness for all types of animals and especially enjoyed riding horses. He was preceded in death by his father, Billy Ray Poindexter in 1969; and by his mother, Gloria Poindexter in 1987. He is survived by a son, James C."Jay"; three brothers, Forrest R. Poindexter of Okinawa, Japan, Anthony Wayne Poindexter and wife, Hua of Reno, NV and Robert Poindexter and wife, Stacey of Chapel Hill, NC; a sister, Diane Mickelson and husband, Mark of Green River, WY; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
