Rantanen -- Leo Edward Rantanen, beloved husband, father, son, and brother passed away suddenly on July 4, 2002 due to an unfortunate accident participating in a sport he loved. He was 39 years old and leaves behind a loving wife of 9 1/2 years, Laurie Rantanen; four children, Tanya, age 16, Nathan, age 16, Travis, age 14, and Jourdan, age 8; his mother-in-law, Jacquelyn; his mother, Yukie; his father, Donald; a sister, Tina; and a brother, Lloyd and wife, Shari and two sons, Kyle and Cody. Also left behind was his extended BMX family and many, many loving friends. Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Monday, July 8, 2002 at Sandia Funeral Care, 7601 Wyoming Blvd NE. Funeral Services will be at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, July 9, 2002 at Chapel of Sandia.
