Culp -- Jean A. Culp, born April 4, 1926, in Bearden, Arkansas, passed away July 19, 2002. She is survived by; her five children, Dr. Charles H. Culp, III, and wife, Bonnie of College Station, TX; Marcia Haney and husband, Thomas Clifford W. Culp and wife, Gabriela, Robert E. Culp and wife, Laura, all of Albuquerque, and Melissa J. Burns of Houston, TX; 14 grandchildren, Michelle Bratton, Charles Culp IV, Patrick Haney, Megan Haney, Michaela Haney, Meredith Haney, Olivia Culp, Chris Culp, Nicholaus Culp, Sara Culp, Justin Culp, Michael Culp, Richard Burns, and Benjamin Burns; six great-grandchildren; and her sister, Emily Nelle Mirise. She was an incredible mother and grandmother. She raised five children on her own and was one of the first women to attain the position of Chief of Mortgage Credit at HUD/FHA. She always lived her life full of love, kindness, and generosity. She was an avid gardener and was famous for her wonderful peaches, tomatoes, and mimosa trees. Her best times were spent out in her yard. She was a truly beautiful person. She will be missed greatly by her loving family. A memorial service will be held at Strong-Thorne Mortuary on Coal, Wednesday, July 24, 2002, at 4:00 p.m.
