Hopp -- Lindy M. Hopp,"Ma", 79 born in Mora, NM and a resident of Albuquerque since 1954, passed away peacefully in the loving arms of her family on Saturday, July 27, 2002. She is survived by her children Rudy, Walter Jr., Jerry, Larry, Terry, Glinda, Gary, Velma, Patsy, Glo and Del; 15 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Helen Valdez of Santa Fe and Sophie Martinez of Tierra Amarilla and many dear relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her wonderful husband of 54 years, Wally"Pop" and her sister, Nina Garduno. Ma had a special love for her niece, Margie Hernandez, who came from Denver to help care for her. The family would also like to thank"Brother John" Ullom who has always been there for the family and daughter-in-law, Nancy Hopp, for her special care of Ma. Ma had a zest for life and lived it to the fullest. She loved her dancing and her Spanish music and Ma always loved a party. Ma had a kind and loving soul. She always found the good in people and was always there with an open home, open heart and just the right words to make a person feel better. For all her softness, Ma had incredible strength that showed itself in her unwavering faith and her love of God, family and life, She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Memorial services will be held at St. Joseph's on the Rio Grande Catholic Church, 5901 St. Joseph's Dr. NW, with Rosary recited at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 30, 2002, and Mass at 9:00 on Wednesday. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to University Homecare/Hospice, 1650 University Blvd, NE, Suite 200, Albuquerque NM 87102. Arrangements by Direct Services.
