Garcia -- Ernest" Ernie" Z. Garcia, 74, passed away peacefully in his home on July 26 after a long battle with cancer. Ernie was born and raised in Griegos and is survived by Gloria, his beloved wife of 53 years; three loving children, Gene Garcia and wife Donna, Christine Rahn and husband Louis, Andrew Garcia and wife Ann; seven grandchildren, Michelle, Jason, Brooke, Erica, Samuel, Erin, Craig; two great-grandchildren, Arthur and Dominique; sister, Rose and her husband Pete of California; brother, Oracio Garcia; and Ernie's precious pet, Chico. Rosary will be recited Monday, July 29, 2002, 7:00 p.m., at French Mortuary-Wyoming Chapel, 7121 Wyoming NE. Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, July 30, 2002, 10:00 a.m. at Queen of Heaven Catholic Church 5310 Claremont Ave. NE. Friends may visit French Mortuary-Wyoming Chapel one hour prior to rosary. Pallbearers will be Samuel Garcia, Jerry Garcia, Robert Chavez, Art Acosta, Rick Archuleta, and Chris Archuleta. Honorary Pallbearers will be Uvaldo Armijo, and Pat McNaughton.
