Kammer -- Milton H. Kammer, a resident of Albuquerque since 1994, passed away on August 13, 2002 following a short illness. Born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on October 1, 1911, he grew up in the City of Brotherly Love. He graduated from Temple University and completed his M.A. at the University of Pennsylvania. His career as a high school English teacher extended from the 1930s through the 1970s, when he retired as English Department Chairman of the public high school in Vineland, New Jersey. Throughout his life Milton sought to be of service to others as a teacher, pianist and as an active member of his church congregation. He drew his greatest pleasures from sharing his love of music and language with others, from travel, and from his family. He is survived by his two children, Susan and her husband, Robert Gura of Rumson, New Jersey, and David and his wife, Jeanne Whitehouse of Albuquerque; by three step-grandchildren, Frances Peterson-Taylor, Ellen Peterson, and Catherine Arlowe; and by his brothers, Herbert and Theodore. A Memorial Service will be held at the Immanuel Presbyterian Church on Tuesday August 13, 2002 at 10:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be sent to the Music Fund at the Immanuel Presbyterian Church, 114 Carlisle Blvd., SE, ABQ, NM 87106, or the Garden Fund at Manzano del Sol Good Samaritan Village, 5201 Roma Ave., NE, ABQ, NM 87108.
