Benavidez -- Mrs. Carolina S. Benavidez, 91, a resident of Albuquerque passed away peacefully at home in the arms of her loving family on August 11, 2002. Mrs. Benavidez is survived by loving sons, Faustino Benavidez Jr. and wife, Donna, Orlando Benavidez Sr. and wife, Carmen, Edmundo Benavidez and wife, Antonia, Johnny Benavidez and wife, Sylvia, Ben Benavidez Sr. and wife, Dolores; Mrs. Benavidez is also survived by 17 grandchildren, Mark, Veronica, Paul and wife, Anna, Jeremy, Jacob, Rose and husband, Tony, Orlando Jr. and wife, Molly, Angie and husband, John, Gerald and wife, Trinnie, Carmen, Chris and wife, Annette, Jennie and husband, Ben, Joe and wife, Loretta, Gloria and Lawrence, Lupe and Aaron, Ben Jr. and wife, Karen and Rebecca; 22 great-grandchildren, B.J., Suzette, Jasmine, Orlando III, Desmine, Mariah, Fernando, Gerald Paul, Samantha, Michelle, Anthony, Santiago, Adam, Bryant, Sylvia, Diona, Jodeci, Destinee, Francisco, Francheska and Fabian; a special great-grandson, Alan; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Mrs. Benavidez was a member of the Catholic Church. A visitation will be Tuesday evening after 6:30 p.m. in the Gabaldon Memorial Chapel with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. by Gene Giron. A final visitation will be Wednesday morning from 9:30 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. at Holy Family Catholic Church, 562 Atrisco SW with a Communion Services to be held at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at the Santa Clara Cemetery. Cossick -- Murl Jean"Dutch" Cossick went to her Lord on August 9, 2002 at the age of 78 years. She had been a resident of Albuquerque since 1959. Dutch was preceded in death by her beloved husband Bill Cossick in 1993. She is survived by daughter Deborah Krehbiel and husband Michael of Albuquerque, daughter Pegi Lair and husband Kelly of Arlington, Texas, granddaughters Kelly Irene Lair of Arlington, Texas and Holly Krehbiel who is currently serving in the U.S. Army and stationed at Ft. Sam Houston, Texas, and Dutch's sister Peggy Swindler of Houston, Texas and her two daughters Donna and Teri. Dutch served honorably in the Royal Canadian Air Force and then in the U.S. Army as a nurse during World War II. Upon discharge from the Army, she had attained the rank of Sergeant. She later became Unit Secretary at the Naval R.O.T.C. at the University of New Mexico for 18 years until her retirement from the U.S. Civil Service in 1985. Her unofficial title there was"Miss Dutch" to the hundreds of young men and women who went through the N.R.O.T.C. program and whose lives she touched with her endless supply of kindness and humor. Dutch will be dearly missed by her loving family and many friends. A service will be held Tuesday, August 13, 2002, 11:00 a.m., at French Mortuary- Wyoming Blvd. Chapel, 7121 Wyoming Blvd. NE. Interment will take place at 1:30 p.m. at Santa Fe National Cemetery. Crackel -- William Crackel, 79, a lifelong resident of New Mexico died Saturday, August 10, 2002. He is survived by his beloved wife of 56 years Fern Crackel, daughter, Lana Finley of Albuquerque, grandson, Derrick Finley of Mooresville, NC, Sister- in-law, Mussette Trent of Tucson, AZ, brother-in-law, Bob Carrico and wife, Lois, nephew, Monty Carrico and wife, Lucy all of Albuquerque, nieces, Cheryl Thompson and husband, Sandy Tolman and husband, and Darlene Harwell and husband.¯ He was a very loving husband, father and grandfather. He lived a long, full life, he laughed often and much. He will be remembered by all who knew him with great love and respect. He was retired as top salesman from Keebler Company. William served in the United States Army in the South Pacific during World War II.¯He received the Purple Heart and was awarded the Bronze Star. He was a long time member of Hoffmantown Church where he served as an usher, attended bible study classes and worked in many other church activities. Daniello -- Beatrice Daniello, 87, a resident of Albuquerque since 1976 went to be with our Lord on Thursday, August 8, 2002. Bea will be remembered for her love of children and the hundreds of babies she cared for during her 20 years of service at Hoffmantown Church. She is survived by her sons, Peter J. Daniello and wife, Donna of Albuquerque, Ralph A. Daniello and wife, Debbie of Iowa and David J. Daniello and wife, Teri of New Jersey; eight grandchildren, Christine and husband Ken, Dena and husband Patrick, Amie, Jason and wife, Liz, Melissa, Kim, Casey and Michael; nephew, John Mineo and wife, Kyo of New Jersey; and great-grandchildren, Asante, Jade and Isabella. Earle and wife, Patty of Raton and Delia B. Earle of Raton; grandchildren, David W. Bowers, Steven C. Bowers, Ricky L. Marquez, Earle grandchildren, Aaron, Jade, Luke, Teira, Troy, Jasmine, Sara Rose, Daisey, Matthew, Alejandro; great-grandchildren, David A. Bowers, Isaiah W. Her life represented the epitome of perfection to her husband, family, and co-workers. This was her life 24/7 even to her last breath. Hudson -- Irene Lydia Altheide Hudson, 87, died August 10, 2002, in the Touched by a White Dove Assisted Living Home in Albuquerque. Her grandson, Curtis, and his wife, Carmen, lovingly cared for her until her death. She was born September 27, 1914, in Tioga, Illinois, to George and Eva Kropp Altheide, who are deceased. Also deceased are her sisters, Lucille Butts and Evalyn Wollbrink; and brothers, Wilbur and Eldon Altheide. Irene is survived by her two sons, James (Sandra) and Richard Hudson of Albuquerque; two grandsons, Brian (Karen) Hudson and Curtis (Carmen) Hudson of Albuquerque; one granddaughter, Kris (James) Reddin of Canton, North Carolina; two great-grandsons, Branden and Colby Reddin of Canton, North Carolina; one great-granddaughter, Sharae Saline of McIntosh, New Mexico; and one great-great-granddaughter, Madison Saline, also of McIntosh. She is also survived by one half sister, Wilma Thornton of Ursa, Illinois; and three half brothers, Kenneth and Dale Altheide of Quincy, Illinois, and George Altheide, Jr. of Talbott, Tennessee. Irene lived and worked in Quincy, Illinois until her retirement at the age of 65, when she moved to New Mexico to be with her sons and grandchildren. After her move to New Mexico, she stayed busy attending the Assembly of God Church, crocheting, hiking in the mountains with fellow seniors, tending her small garden, and having her family come to her home so she could cook dinner for them, one of her greatest delights. A Memorial Service will be held at Duker and Haugh Funeral Home in Quincy, Illinois on Thursday, August 15, 2002 at 10:00 a.m. Memorials, in lieu of flowers, may be made to Faith Assembly of God Church in Quincy, IL. Burial will be in the Bethany United Church of Christ Cemetery in Tioga, Illinois, where her parents and other family members are buried.

Kammer -- Milton H. Kammer, a resident of Albuquerque since 1994, passed away on August 13, 2002 following a short illness. Born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on October 1, 1911, he grew up in the City of Brotherly Love. He graduated from Temple University and completed his M.A. at the University of Pennsylvania. His career as a high school English teacher extended from the 1930s through the 1970s, when he retired as English Department Chairman of the public high school in Vineland, New Jersey. Throughout his life Milton sought to be of service to others as a teacher, pianist and as an active member of his church congregation. He drew his greatest pleasures from sharing his love of music and language with others, from travel, and from his family. He is survived by his two children, Susan and her husband, Robert Gura of Rumson, New Jersey, and David and his wife, Jeanne Whitehouse of Albuquerque; by three step-grandchildren, Frances Peterson-Taylor, Ellen Peterson, and Catherine Arlowe; and by his brothers, Herbert and Theodore. Kemp -- Mildred Kemp, 78, a resident of Rio Rancho, died Thursday, August 8, 2002. She is survived by her three sons, Timothy J. II and wife, Lena, Jimmy and Richard and his girlfriend, Sharon. She is also survived by grandchildren, Timothy J. Lang's wife-Shelly of Albuquerque; two younger sisters-Maggie Lang and Brittany Lang of Albuquerque; Shelly's children-Ryan and Kiersten Hall of Sacramento, Calif; grandmother-Margaret Gillespie of Albuquerque; grandmother-Carolyn Lanphere and husband Eric D. Lanphere of Albuquerque; great grandmother-Nell Cleveland of Galveston, Texas; two uncles-William P. Lang and wife Elizabeth of Albuquerque and Eric C. Lanphere and wife Debora of Albuquerque; three aunts-Angela Lang of Corrales, Lené Larson of Omaha, Neb and Marcelle Kirshner and husband Shaun of Camarillo, Calif.; and Kimberley Lang's longtime friend, Rob Young of Albuquerque. Tommy Lang was a recent graduate of Valley High School and was planning to attend Colorado State University this fall to study business and business law. He was a snowboarder, water-skier, scuba diver and wakeboarder. He also enjoyed aviation and automobile mechanics and collected foreign coins and exotic knives. He worked with aerobatic airplanes at White Walthram Airport, Maidenhead Berkshire, UK. He attended Calvary Chapel. Funeral services will be held today at 10:00 a.m. at Calvary Chapel, 4001 Osuna Rd. NE, Pastor Skip Heitzig will be officiating. Pallbearers include T.H. Lang, Kimberley M. Lang, Shelly Lang, Rob Young, Maggie Lang and Brittany Lang. Honorary pallbearers are William P. Marquez -- John Nicholas Marquez, age 42. John was born June 8, 1960 in Tucumcari, NM to George Marquez and Roberta Martinez Dougherty. John was a loving husband and a devoted father. He loved the outdoors and was an avid hunter. He had worked five years for the Grants District of the State Highway Department, He taught Civil engineering at NMSU-Grants. At the time of his death, he was operating Marquez Surveying in Albuquerque. John was a Professional Surveyer for 20 years and was the best at what he did. He was caring and always willing to help others. He will be greatly missed by his family and many friends. Mcelroy -- Martina J. McElroy passed away peacefully in Albuquerque on August 11, 2002. Martina was born in Sapello, NM on January 2, 1904. She is survived by her daughters, Dorothy and husband, Ray Angel of Las Vegas, NM, Irene and husband, Richard Gotti of Albuquerque, and Marie and husband, Louie Geoffrion of Los Alamos, NM; step-sons, George McElroy and wife, Marge of St. Paul, KS and Joe McElroy of Denver, CO; 13 grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren; sisters, Eugenia Martinez and Ignacia Martinez. She was preceded by her husband, Dewey McElroy; her parents, Vicente and Cleofas Jimenez; her two brothers, Carlos and Vicente Jimenez. She worked for Hoffman and Graubrath and Gordon Jewelers. She still found time to be active with the Elk's Does, President of the Firemen's Auxiliary, Sacred Heart Society and the VFW Auxiliary. Nicholson -- William Charles"Chuck" Nicholson, Jr., a resident of Rio Rancho, passed away suddenly on August 9, 2002. Chuck was born on July 19, 1957 to William and Sandra Nicholson in Atlanta, Georgia. Chuck was an avid outdoorsman, loved to fish and enjoyed bowling. Romero -- Nora E. Romero, age 87, passed away August 11, 2002 at the Meadow's Nursing Home in Las Vegas, NM. Nora was born November 2, 1914 in Cuervo, NM to the home of Simon and Genoveva Baca Romo. She married Joe V. Romero February 1, 1937 in Newkirk, NM. Nora and Joe made their home in Santa Rosa in the mid 1940's. Nora worked for Teeters Department store, Medley's Cafe and with her brother-in-law, Dale Bartz at the Santa Rosa Drug. She was a member of the St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church and was active in the Sacred Heart Society, the Altar Society and while her children were attending St. Rose School she was active in the St. Joseph's Guild. She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Joe; her brothers and sister, Cristobal Romo, Napoleon Romo and Annie Bartz; her grandson, Louie Sanchez; and her son-in-law, Leroy Ulibarri. Survivors include her son, Philip J. Romero and wife, Geraldine of Las Vegas; her daughters, Mary Esther Ulibarri of Las Vegas, Bertha Marrujo and husband, Larry of Tularosa, Gloria Sanchez and husband, Louie of Glorieta and Betty Jo Cockrell and husband, Larry of Las Vegas. Also surviving are her sisters, Della Mynaugh and husband, Charlie of Los Alamos and Mary Marquez of Las Vegas; her brother, Benny Romo and wife, Patsy of Las Cruces; brothers, and sisters-in-law, Dale Bartz of Texas, Alice Romo of San Antonio, TX, Ramona Sena of San Antonio, Guadalupe Garcia, Arthur Romero and wife, Mary, Eddie Romero, Freddy Romero and wife, Maryann all of Albuquerque; 12 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews relatives and friends. Rosary Services will be held on Tuesday evening at 7:00 p.m. from St. Rose Church in Santa Rosa. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday morning at 10:00 a.m. also from St. Rose Church with Father Stephen Schultz officiating. Burial will follow in the family plot at St. Joseph Cemetery in Santa Rosa. Serving as Pallbearers will be Christopher Madrid, Jason Sanchez, Jose Sanchez, Michael Marrujo, Larry Wade Cockrell, Darin Romero, Alfonso Garcia and Lawrence Marrujo. Russell -- Opal F. Russell, born in Davis, OK October 25, 1916, passed away Friday, August 9, 2002. She is survived by her nephews, Jack Smith and Ben Smith; niece, Linda Hunter; sisters-in-law, Helen Smith and Trelma Vaughan and stepson, Alvin Russell Jr., and their families. She was preceded in death by her husband, Alvin Russell. Mrs. Russell grew up in a loving, close-knit family with twin brother Otis and younger brother, Clarence. She moved to Albuquerque in 1941. Mrs. Russell lived in Red River NM for about ten years. She was a member of The Eastern Star and Beauceant. Mrs. Russell loved to fish and play bridge. She and her late husband, Alvin were active members of Monterey Baptist Church. Funeral Services will be held at Wednesday, August 14, 2002, 11:00 a.m., at Monterey Baptist Church, 12501 Lomas Blvd NE, with Pastor Fred McDonald officiating. Sanchez -- Priscilla Sanchez. The family of Priscilla Sanchez would like to thank everyone for all the kindness shown during their loss. A special thanks to the doctors and nursing staff at Lovelace Medical Center in Albuquerque, all those who sent cards, brought food, offered prayers and called, Father Frank Prieto for his visits to the hospital, all her friends and co-workers from Kirtland Air Force Base for their support and prayers. A special thanks to the parish family at Our Lady of Belen Catholic Church in Belen and to Father Sotero Sena and Sister Teresita Garcia at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Fort Sumner and to the Eagles Club for preparing the Funeral meal. Silva -- Morris M. Silva Jr., 75, went home to be with the Lord on August 10, 2002. He was born on August 6, 1927 in Alamogordo, NM. He served in the U.S. Army and belonged to the American Legion. Morris is survived by his wife, Cora Silva; sister, Dorothy Sanchez, daughters; Charlotte Archuleta, Marie Bowman and husband, Jay and Margaret Silva, Joey Aragon; grandchildren, Michelle King and husband, Chuck, Christine Gilerup, Morris Archuleta and wife, Sandra, Denise Martinez and husband, Joseph, Mary Robles, Gloria Hernandez and Jay Bowman Jr.; 20 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Morris will be deeply missed by his loving family. Visitations will be held on Tuesday from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00p.m. in the Eighth Street Chapel of Garcia Mortuary. Final viewing will be on Wednesday morning from 8:30 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. with Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 9:00 a.m. at the San Jose Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Ernest Avalos, Morris Archuleta, Jay Bowman Jr., Mary Robles, CJ King and Michael Tapia. Honorary Pallbearers will be Jay Bowman Sr. and Joey Aragon. Singleton -- Milton J. Singleton, 95, a resident of Rio Rancho for 15 years, passed away on August 9, 2002. He is survived by his wife, Helen A. Singleton of Rio Rancho; son, M.J. Singleton Jr., and wife Bryonie of Rio Rancho; daughter, Joyce Limbaugh of Lake Alfred, FL; six grandchildren, Jennifer Pohle, Amy Romero-Gasman, Susan Limbaugh, M.J. Singleton, III, Aaron Adsit and Shona Hewitson; great grandchildren, Rita Pohle and Matthew and Emily Singleton. Milton attended the University of Tulsa. From 1934 - 1967 he was the Executive Director of the Tulsa Boys Home. Milton was president of the National Association of Homes for Boys. In 1960 he was a delegate to the White House Conference on Children and Youth. Memorial service will be held on Thursday at 3:30 p.m. at French Mortuary, Westside Chapel, 9300 Golf Course Rd. Suiter -- Hazel Lou Suiter, a resident of Albuquerque for 46 years, died Wednesday, August 7, 2002. She is survived by her son, Steven Suiter; granddaughter, Catherine Suiter; and daughter-in-law, Judy Suiter, all of Albuquerque; sisters, Dorothy White of Bellflower, CA, and Betty Trezona of Spearfish, South Dakota; sisters-in-law, Pearl Holderness of Van Nuys, CA, and Mildred Anderson of Pelham, AL. She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter H. Suiter, in 1992; and son, Gary Suiter in 1982. Hazel was born in Cheyenne, WY on November 8, 1919. She tirelessly volunteered for numerous organizations in Albuquerque over the years, including the VA Hospital, Meals on Wheels, and MADD. She enjoyed tennis and square-dancing immensely and all the friendships associated with those activities. A Memorial Service will be held at First Church of Religious Science, 3320 San Pedro NE, Tuesday, August 13, 2002 at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to the Animal Humane Association of New Mexico, 615 Virginia SE, Albuquerque, NM, 87108 or the charity of your choice.

Vaisa -- Dora M. Vaisa, 76, a resident of Valencia, passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 8, 2002. she is preceded in death by her husband, George Vaisa; a son, Tommy Vaisa; and a grandson, Tommy Vaisa. She is survived by her four sons, Adenago Vaisa of Belen, Paul Vaisa and wife, Barbara of Los Lunas, Johnny Vaisa of Los Lunas, and Steve Vaisa and wife, Viola of Valencia; Three daughters, Martha McDonald of Albuquerque, Mary Benevidez and husband, Ted of Belen and Candelaria Griego and husband, Stelio of Valencia; many grandchildren; great-grandchildren; brothers and sisters. A Service was held Monday, August 12, 2002 at Romero Funeral Home. interment was held at the Sedillo Cemetery in El Cerro.

Vidal -- Lucile Leahy Vidal passed away on August 9, 2002. Born in Las Vegas, NM she was preceded in death by her husband, Steven P. Vidal Sr.; and her parents, Judge David Leahy and Lucile Leahy and her sister, Helen Leahy. She is survived by her son, David L. Quinlan and wife, Sandra; grandsons, Robert Quinlan and wife, Nicole, Bradley McDowell and wife, Jody; granddaughter, Teresa McDowell; and seven great-grandchildren. She is also survived by stepson, Charles A. Vidal and wife, Linda of Carbondale, CO; and her very dear cousins, Ann and Robert Reddy of Rio Rancho, NM. Lucile was an avid golfer and a member of the Albuquerque Country Club for many years.
