Rogers -- Roy A. Rogers, Jr. 80, a resident of Albuquerque since 1936, and coming to New Mexico from Texas, passed away on Sunday, August 25, 2002. Roy was born June 24, 1922 the son of Roy A. and Cornelia Jane Glover Rogers, Sr. in Canyon, Texas. He was a graduate of Albuquerque High School in 1940. Roy was a member of the Mason's, A.F. and A. M., Hirim Lodge #13 since 1951, and a member of the Machinist Union (Steward). Roy was preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Cornelia Rogers, Sr. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Margaret Rogers; three children, Allen R. Rogers and wife, Judith, Jerry L. Rogers and wife, Faye, and Janie S. Hern and husband, Billy; nine grandchildren, Sarah, Rebekah, Allen Roy, Jon, Stephanie, Michael, Renee, Richard, and Aimee; six great grandchildren, James, Rachel, Mary, Joseph, William, and Courtney. The Visitation for Roy will be Wednesday, August 28, 2002 from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel of Vista Verde Mortuary, Sara Rd. at Meadowlark Ln, Rio Rancho, with the Graveside Service at 11:00 a.m. in Vista Verde Memorial Park. Officiating will be Pastor Rick Donaho. Pallbearers will be Allen Roy Rogers, Jr., Jon Rogers, Richard Hern, Michael Rogers, Joey Gergel, and Adam Lopez. Arrangements by Vista Verde Mortuary, Rio Rancho, 892-9920.
