Bowen -- Herbert J. Bowen, 87, a resident of New Mexico since 1947, died Thursday, September 26, 2002. He is survived by his wife, Mahota Bowen of Los Lunas; son, Leland Bowen and wife, Dorothy �Bunny� of Placitas; daughter, Mary Nell Daughtrey and husband,Terry of Albuquerque; stepson, Bob Caruthers and wife, Martha of California; stepdaughter, Betty McDaniel of Colorado; granddaughters, Karen Bowen of Craig, CO and Rachel Narro and husband, Carlos of Albuquerque; grandsons, Bryan Bowen and wife, Dale Deegan of Boulder, CO and Kevin Daughtrey of Albuquerque; step-grandson, Travis McDaniel of Farmington, NM; step-granddaughter, Angi McDaniel of Colorado; great-grandchildren, Caitlin Wilson, Karlan Meyers and Maranda Narro; and step-great-grandson, Brandon McDaniel. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Bertha Bowen. Herbert served as a Deacon at First Baptist Church. He supported the war effort during WWII working as a supervisor at Boeing Aircraft where he inspected over 1600 B-29 Bombers. Herbert worked for 27 years at Sandia National Laboratories, retiring in 1973. Services will be held Monday, 1:00 p.m., at First Baptist Church, 101 Broadway NE, with Pastor Steve Taylor officiating.� Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park, 924 Menaul NE.
