Boughner -- Elizabeth Boughner, age 90, an Albuquerque resident died September 25, 2002. She was born November 23, 1911 to the late William Livingston and Harriet Ziegler. Elizabeth was preceded in death by her husband, Guy Boughner in March 1986. Survivors include daughters, Georgene Setzer of Harlem, GA, Betty Jean Jordan of Los Lunas, NM; sons, Daryl Boughner of Plymouth, MI, John Boughner of Denver, CO, Martin Schwendener of Castle Rock, CO; 11 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and four great-great grandchildren. Elizabeth was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star. Viewing and visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m., Sunday, September 29, 2002 at Strong-Thorne Mortuary 1100 Coal Ave SE. Bowen -- Herbert J. Bowen, 87, a resident of New Mexico since 1947, died Thursday, September 26, 2002. He is survived by his wife, Mahota Bowen of Los Lunas; son, Leland Bowen and wife, Dorothy ¯Bunny¯ of Placitas; daughter, Mary Nell Daughtrey and husband,Terry of Albuquerque; stepson, Bob Caruthers and wife, Martha of California; stepdaughter, Betty McDaniel of Colorado; granddaughters, Karen Bowen of Craig, CO and Rachel Narro and husband, Carlos of Albuquerque; grandsons, Bryan Bowen and wife, Dale Deegan of Boulder, CO and Kevin Daughtrey of Albuquerque; step-grandson, Travis McDaniel of Farmington, NM; step-granddaughter, Angi McDaniel of Colorado; great-grandchildren, Caitlin Wilson, Karlan Meyers and Maranda Narro; and step-great-grandson, Brandon McDaniel. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Bertha Bowen. Herbert served as a Deacon at First Baptist Church. He supported the war effort during WWII working as a supervisor at Boeing Aircraft where he inspected over 1600 B-29 Bombers. Herbert worked for 27 years at Sandia National Laboratories, retiring in 1973. Services will be held Monday, 1:00 p.m., at First Baptist Church, 101 Broadway NE, with Pastor Steve Taylor officiating.¯ Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park, 924 Menaul NE. Briggs -- Floyd Odell Briggs, 76, a retired contractor died Tuesday, September 24, 2002. He was born in Center, TX on June 26, 1926. In November 1930 he moved with his family to New Mexico, where he resided for the rest of his life. He attended High School in Stanley, NM, and then served in the Navy Sea Bees, stationed in Okinawa. Upon returning to New Mexico, he moved to Albuquerque where he owned Briggs Shamrock Service Station, and later Briggs Concrete Contracting Company. As a superintendent, he was employed by Kent Nowlin Construction Company and then Neilson's Construction Company, retiring in 1990. Floyd Odell Briggs is preceded in death by his father, A.B. Briggs; mother, Bertha Briggs; brother, Jess Briggs; son, David Briggs; and an infant daughter, Patty. His survivors are daughter, Sherry Briggs of Fort Worth, TX; son and daughter-in-law, Mike and Debbie Briggs of Albuquerque; daughter-in-law, Janet Briggs of Wichita Falls, TX; sister, Opal Opperman; and nephews, Gayle Hal and Paul Opperman. Services will be held Monday, 10:00 a.m., at French Mortuary, University Blvd. Chapel, 1111 University Blvd. NE, with Rev. Hal Opperman officiating. Brown -- Lucy Ruth Brown, 91, passed away peacefully in her home on Friday, September 20, 2002. She is survived by her daughter, Ellie Rucker of Austin, TX; sons, James F., Ted F., and Charles F. Brown, all of Albuquerque; sisters, Katy Lehman of Portales and Mildred Hudgens of Deming; eight grandchildren;and 22 great-grandchildren.¯ Preceding her in death were her husband, Theodore R. Brown; and her brother, Travis Brem of Deming. Ruth was a resident of Albuquerque for 70 years. She was born in Deming, NM on September 2, 1911 to J. Fletcher Brem and Willie Lee Mauldin.¯ Ruth's parents moved to New Mexico from Mississippi.¯Ruth had a special interest for the underprivileged and those who couldn't help themselves.¯ She supported the Navajo Indians financially, spiritually and medically at a time when few people had even heard of a Navajo. She supported Albuquerque Rescue Mission, as well as missions in Guatemala, Mexico, India and Africa. She was a founding member of Albuquerque'S Grace Church, President of Christian Women¯s Club, and past member of the Albuquerque Garden Club.¯Ruth was an active gardener and loved roses. A special acknowledgement is given to Helen and Carmen who so lovingly provided care for Ruth.¯ Services will be held Saturday, September 28, 2002, 2:00 p.m., at the Chester T. French Memorial Mausoleum Chapel at Sunset Memorial Park, 924 Menaul Blvd. NE. Interment will follow. French Mortuary, 1111 University Blvd. NE.

Dudley -- Jean Angle Dudley, 93, died Tuesday, September 24, 2002 after a short illness. She was predeceased by her parents, Emma Tate Yates Dudley and Charles Watts Dudley of Auxvasse, Missouri. Jean attended Christian College (now Columbia College) in Columbia, Missouri and Central Missouri State Teachers College in Warrensburg, Missouri, from which she graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Education. Jean taught elementary school in Arkansas and Missouri before joining Trans World Airlines (TWA) as a radio operator in Amarillo, Texas in 1944. An Albuquerque resident since 1959, Jean joined the TWA Reservations Staff, where she eventually served as Reservations Manager. She retired from TWA after 30 faithful years of service. Until more recent years, Jean was an active member of the Senior TWA Retirees' Association. Jean was proud of her years of service with TWA and for her community involvements. Jean cherished time with her family, most recently participating in a family reunion in the weeks preceding her death. She was a steadfast, gracious, and loyal friend, of which she had many locally and throughout the United States. She traveled extensively domestically and to far off lands, often times with her friends. During her lifetime, Jean made at least one complete trip around the world. A devout Christian, Jean and her parents were former members of the Auxvasse United Methodist Church of Auxvasse, Missouri. In Albuquerque, she was a member of the Christ United Methodist Church. Jean is survived locally by Dr. Nick and Virginia Dudley and their children and families and by Jean Dudley Cowan and husband Maynard. Other survivors include Jane and George Munger of Enid, Oklahoma and their family. A final viewing has been scheduled in Albuquerque for this Sunday, September 29, 2002 from 2:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., at French Mortuary, 1111 University NE. Jean will then make her final journey,"going home" to be buried next to her parents in the family plot. At Jean's request, her cousin, Lt. Col. Robert Dudley (USAF ret) will sing"Beyond the Sunset" during a graveside service at the Auxvasse Cemetery in Auxvasse, Missouri at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 2, 2002. Maupin Funeral Home, 301 Douglas, Fulton, Missouri, is in charge of arrangements. ". . . I'm just going home. . . . Work all done, care laid by, gone to fear no more. Mother there, expecting me. Father waiting, too. Lots of¯ folk going there, all the friends I knew. Going home, going home, I'm just going home." from a prayer by Rev. Kirby of Auxvasse United Methodist Church. Garcia -- Hinelda Alicia Alcala Garcia, age 75, and a resident of Albuquerque, died September 26, 2002. Survivors include her spouse, Gonzalo Garcia of Albuquerque; daughters, Sarah Robin Garcia of TX, Iris Naomi Garcia and spouse, Jan Murray of MI, Elda Rebecca Pinsonneault and spouse, Richard of Albuquerque; sons, David Graydon Garcia of TX, Joseph Nathan Garcia and spouse Joseph J. Daly of Ireland; sister, Hermila Iris Castro of TX; brothers, Robert Joseph Alcala of NY, Hazael Emilo Alcala of TX; grandchildren, Phillip, Alicia and Jonathan Pinsonneault. Hinelda was a member of St. John's United Methodist and 1st United Methodist Church of Brownsville, TX. Garcia -- Lucinda Garcia, age 88, beloved and devoted mother, grandmother, and sister was called home to be with the Lord our Savior, Thursday, September 26, 2002, while surrounded by her loving family. Lucinda was a resident of Albuquerque; and a parishioner of Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church. She is survived by her loving children, Raymond Garcia, Vivian Garcia and wife Nena, Orlando Garcia, Abie Garcia and wife Margaret, Mary Cordova and husband Jake, Cris Worrell, Cecilia Enriquez and husband Albert, and Rita Riboni; 17 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter. Also surviving are two sisters, Jesusita Garcia, Reyes Grigo; and many other relatives. Lucinda will be greatly missed by her loving family and by those who knew and loved her. Visitations will be Sunday from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Alameda Mortuary. A Rosary will be recited Sunday evening at 7:00 p.m. at Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church. Harmon -- Kim Harmon, Col. USAF (Ret.), 62, a resident of Albuquerque since 1985, died Wednesday, September 25, 2002. He is survived by his wife, Karen Harmon of Albuquerque; brother, Bruce Harmon and wife, Maria of West Linn, Oregon; mother, Eileen Harmon of West Linn, Oregon; aunt, Louise Murray of Albuquerque; and his friend, Rosie dog. Col. Harmon received his BS in Mechanical Engineering at Oregon State University and his MBA at University of Colorado, graduating Magna Cum Laude and attended Air War College. He married Karen Engle in 1964 at Luke Air Force Base Chapel, Arizona. Col. Harmon retired from the Air Force after a distinguished career of 26 years, which included two tours of duty in Vietnam as a combat pilot. Military decorations include, Legion of Merit, Distinguished Flying Cross, Meritorious Service Medal with One Oak Leaf Cluster, Air Medal with Two Silver and Two Bronze Oak Leaf Clusters, AF Commendation Medal, Distinguished-Presidential Unit Citation, Combat Readiness Medal with One Oak Leaf Cluster, National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal with Four Bronze Stars, AF Overseas Short Tour Ribbon, AF Overseas Long Tour Ribbon, Small Arms Expert Marksmanship Ribbon, Republic of Vietnam Gallantry Cross with Palm and Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal. He was a member of the Albuquerque Soaring Club, Daedalians (National Fraternity of Military Pilots), Roadrunner Region Porsche Club of America, Sandia Peak Ski Patrol, and Delta Tau Delta National Fraternity. Memorial services will be held Saturday, September 28, 2002, 2:00 p.m., at the Kirtland Air Force Base Chapel. Attendees may enter through the Wyoming Gate Entrance. Harrah -- Rodney Kent Harrah, former Albuquerque resident passed away in Los Angeles on August 23, 2002 after a long struggle with prostate cancer. He is survived by his beloved wife of 40 years, Anne"Ginger" Harrah; daughter and son-in-law, Jessica and Carl Bronson of Los Angeles; son, Richard Harrah of Seattle; and son and daughter-in-law, Jeffrey and Diana Harrah of Long Beach, CA. Kent is also survived by his mother, Juanita Harrah of Beckley, WV; and sister and brother-in-law, Tamara and Mike Jones of Southport, NC.Kent was born November 27, 1938 in Powellton, WV. He entered the United States Air Force as an Aviation Cadet in 1959. He received a commission and navigator wings a year later, and retired as a Lieutenant Colonel in 1979. Kent was a Vietnam Veteran with two deployments as a B-52 crew member and one as a staff officer. He received the Distinguished Flying Cross, seven Air Medals, and two Meritorious Service Medals among other decorations. His last assignment was at Headquarters, United States Air Force, the Pentagon.After Air Force retirement, Kent was a systems analyst and program manager with the BDM Corporation in Albuquerque. Later, he became active in programs and agencies serving the needs of the disabled community. He planned and led the creation of the Independent Living Resource Center, a non-profit agency assisting disabled adults to live more independently. He also played a major role in establishing the New Mexico Relay, an agency that enables speech and hearing impaired persons to communicate with hearing and speaking persons via the telephone.Kent received a BA from Louisiana Tech University and an MBA from New Mexico Highlands University. The family requests that friends wishing to make a memorial contribution send their tax deductible donation to Zia Chapter, Paralyzed Veterans of America, 833 Gibson Blvd. SE, Albuquerque, NM 87120.In accordance with Kent's wishes, cremation has taken place in Los Angeles, CA. Kreiner -- Donald"Pat"rick Kreiner, self declared party person, dedicated Loafer, pacifist, philosopher, theologian, lover, conversationalist who will argue either side of any question. He was born August 13, 1924, in Winnett, MT,¯ the youngest of eight children, to Margaret Cameron and Edward Kreiner. He died September 25, 2002 in Santa Fe, NM. He was preceded in death by Sarah Patricia Kreiner; as well as his parents; and most of his siblings. He is survived by his daughters, Kay and Susan Kreiner; his sister, Kay McArty; and many friends. Pat, a man with a generous heart, will always be remembered for being himself and for having a great sense of humor. He constantly searched for spiritual truth and looked down every path to find it. Pat was a fantastic story teller and elaborator who engaged and challenged people to expand themselves. As well, he let people be who they were; he was not judgmental. Pat was a tail gunner in the Army Air Corps during WWII in the European theater, receiving a Purple Heart, five Bronze Stars, an Air Medal with two Bronze Clusters and (believe it or not) a Good Conduct Medal. He was awarded a Bachelor of Arts in Business from Gonzaga University and a Master of Applied Theology from the Institute of Lay Theology at the University of San Francisco. His varied career included being a journeyman meat cutter, a lay theologian for the Catholic Church and social worker for the State of New Mexico. As a Lay Theologian he served in Spokane, Los Alamos, Des Moines and Albuquerque. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at John XXIII, Catholic Community in Albuquerque on October 1, 2002 at 7:00 p.m. A reception will follow. Burial Service will be held at the National Cemetery in Santa Fe on October 3, 2002 at 11:00 a.m. Here's to you, Pat Kreiner. We love you. Farewell. Lee -- Danny Vernon Lee, age 49, a resident of Albuquerque, died September 25, 2002. He was born March 3, 1953 to Vernon (Peter) and Eulalia Lee. His survivors include his spouse, Ellen Lee, his adoring wife of Albuquerque; daughter, Diana Pacheco and husband Maurice; son, Daniel Milbert; mother, Eulalia Lee of Fort Worth, TX; sisters, Eula Burton and husband, Roger, Brenda McLeod and husband, Lou and Verna Lee; brothers, Bobby Lee and wife Laura Jean, Randy Lee and wife Sally Lee; grandchildren, Joshua Maurice, Sydney Elizabeth and Ethan Daniel Pacheco; nephews, Greg Burton, Jeff Lee and wife, Carol, Travis Burton and wife, Sandy, Bill, Bryan, Bobby, Brent and Kyle Lee; nieces, Shannon and Jessica Lee. He was blessed with many friends, especially at the shop and Howie's. Danny graduated from Del Norte High School in 1971 and received a scholarship to play baseball in Plano, TX. Lobato -- Christina Lobato, 86, a resident of Albuquerque since 1994, died on September 27, 2002. She is survived by her three sons, Max Lobato and wife, Erma of Austin, TX, Junior Lobato of Kirland, WA and Jim Lobato and wife, Patsy of Albuquerque; three daughters, Alice Trujillo and husband, Tony of Albuquerque, Inez Silva of Seattle, WA and Sheila Chavez and husband, David of Farmington, NM. Naranjo -- William J. Naranjo, 90, a resident of Albuquerque, died Wednesday, September 25, 2002. He is survived by his daughter, Lili Marlaine Naranjo; son, John M. Naranjo and wife, Marie; two grandchildren, Lynn Eve Otero and Lou Ella Naranjo; two great-grandsons, Johnathan Otero and Marcus Otero; half-brother, Mark G. Robertson; and half-sister, Mary Etta Winters. He was preceded in death by his wife, Christine Naranjo. William was born in Shiprock, NM on March 9, 1912. He was a graduate of Sacred Heart Cathedral High School in Gallup, Class of 1930. Mr. Naranjo served in WWII with the 45th Infantry Division, being wounded in Sicily in 1943. He worked for the B.I.A. at Ft. Wingate, NM as Plant Manager for 40 years. Mr. Naranjo moved to Albuquerque in 1988 and for the last three years had resided at Carestone Assisted Living Center. He was a member of Queen of Angels Catholic Chapel and the Disabled American Veterans. Woodward -- Maria Woodward, a lifelong resident of Albuquerque died Thursday, September 26, 2002 in Albuquerque at the age of 73. She will be remembered for her love of cooking and being with family. Mrs. Woodward is preceded in death by her husband, James A. Woodward, and brother, Lee Aragon. She is survived by her sons, David Woodward and Richard Woodward; brother, Roger Aragon; sisters, Teofila Sanchez and Josie Hoyle; seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Funeral Services for Mrs. Woodward will be held on Monday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church where the Mass will be celebrated at 9:00 a.m. Burial will take place at Fairview Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Ronnie Lucero, Andrew Woodward, David Muniz, Brian Woodward, Arthur Aragon and Robert Aragon. Honorary pallbearer will be Martin Porath. A Rosary for Mrs. Woodward will be recited on Sunday evening at 7:30 p.m. at Salazar & Sons Mortuary, 400 Third St. SW. .DMP
