Tafoya -- Rafaelita S. Tafoya, 97, went home to be with the Lord on October 25, 2002. She was born on July 16, 1905 in Contreras, NM. Mrs. Tafoya is preceded in death by her husband Celestino Tafoya. She is survived by her sons; David Tafoya and wife Celina, Juan Jose Tafoya and wife Irene, Sylvester Tafoya and wife Carol and Joe R. Tafoya and wife M. Sadie, daughters; Frances Cordova, Blandina Peralta and husband Fidencio and Tarcila Griego and husband Lin and many grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. Mrs. Tafoya will be deeply missed by her loving family. Visitations will be held on Sunday from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. in the Eighth Street Chapel of Garcia Mortuary with a rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Assumption Catholic Church. Interment will follow at the Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Marty Peralta, Kenny Griego, Charlie Cordova, David Tafoya Jr., Johnny Tafoya and Andy Tafoya. Honorary pallbearers will be J. Robert Cordova, Victor Tafoya, Mariano Cordova, Ronnie Cordova, Steve Cordova, Danny Griego, Michael Griego, Jim Peralta, Ivan Cordova and Phillip Griego.
