Kleinhenz -- Francis A. Kleinhenz, age 77, an Albuquerque resident since 1968 died at his home on Wednesday, December 18, 2002. Survivors include his beloved wife of 56 years, Norma L. nee Six; children, Barbara A. and husband, Paul Dillon, Mark A. and wife, Charlene Kleinhenz, Clareen F. and husband, Rudy Gomez, Carol M. Murray, Timothy M. Kleinhenz, Gregory J. Kleinhenz, Stephen G. and wife, Tomasina Kleinhenz; he was a proud grandfather of 20 and great-grandfather of five. Francis was a U.S. Army Air Force Veteran serving in WWII and will be remembered for his professional career as President of the University of Albuquerque and as Chief Administrative Officer for the City of Albuquerque. His education includes a Bachelor of Arts Degree (Magna Cum Laude), John Carroll University, Ohio; Masters in History and Education John Carroll University, Ohio; Doctoral Studies in Political Science and Education, Case Western University. Awards and Honors include: Honorary Degree Doctor of Humanities, College of Santa Fe; New Mexico Distinguished Public Service award; New Mexico Regional Medical Program; John J. Mc Cloy Fellowship; Honorary Degree Doctor of Laws, University of Albuquerque; American Society for Public Administrations Distinguished Public Administrators award; Honorary member the Rio Grande Lions Club and Senior Foundation Hall of Fame inductee. A Rosary will be recited at the chapel of Fitzgerald & Son Funeral Directors 3113 Carlisle Blvd NE at 6:00 pm, Sunday, December 22. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 9:00 am, Monday, December 23, 2002 at Immaculate Conception Church 619 Copper NW with Celebrant. Interment will follow in Santa Fe National Cemetery with Mark Kleinhenz, Tim Kleinhenz, Greg Kleinhenz, Steve Kleinhenz, Brian Murray and Matthew Kleinhenz serving as Pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Anthony Kleinhenz, Pat Dillon, Tim Dillon and Kevin Brewster. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Mary's Rest Home, 205 7th NW, Abq., NM, 87102. Arrangements under the direction of Fitzgerald&Son Funeral Directors.
