Archuleta -- Mellie Archuleta, a lifelong resident of Albuquerque, died Friday, December 20, 2002. She is survived by her husband of 37 years, Mike R. Archuleta; daughters, Marlene Chavez and husband, Ernie, Alice Galloway, Katherine Anaya and husband, Lloyd; son, Michael Galloway; daughters, Dorothy Fernandez and husband, Mike, Patricia Archuleta; grandchildren, Lisa, Gabriel, Celine, Cody, Chelsea, Jerry, Carol, Richard, Joseph, Veronica; great-grandchildren, Alexis, Crystopher, Alexandria, Derick; sisters, Lousiana Jaramillo, Lucy Garcia and husband Eddie, Lena Peralta and husband, Florenio; brothers, Lalo Urtiga and wife, Priscilla and Horace Urtiga and wife, Pressy all of Albuquerque. She was preceded in death by her son, Joe Galloway, daughter, Lorraine Lopez and her brother, Celedon Urtiga. Mrs. Archuleta enjoyed the outdoors and loved being around her grandchildren. Crist -- Retired Lt. Col. Dwight E. Crist, 83, a resident of Albuquerque, made the transition to eternal life on Friday, December 20, 2002. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Carmella (Frankie) F. Crist, of Albuquerque; sons, Vietnam Veteran Sam R. Crist of Los Lunas, and Douglas M. Crist, PhD of Albuquerque; daughter, Marilyn L. Crist of Albuquerque; and cousin, Lorene Crist of Unionville, MO. Dwight was born, reared, and worked on a farm in Unionville MO. He attended Jr. College, obtained his private pilot's license, and met his wife Frankie, all in Centerville IA. His military career began when he enlisted in the US Army on December 8, 1941. He served as a pilot in the Army Air Corps during WWII where he frequently flew C47s in combat behind enemy lines to deliver paratroopers, gliders, and supplies within Northern Africa and Europe. He was the recipient of numerous wartime medals, including several oak leaf clusters and silver leaves. Dwight became a reservist in late 1946. He trained foreign student pilots at Marana Air Force Base in Tucson, AZ. The Federal Aviation Agency brought Dwight and family to Albuquerque in 1958. He retired from FAA Air Traffic Control as an Operations Supervisor after 21 years of service. Since that time, Dwight has enjoyed participating in the financial marketplace and, managing financial affairs for the family. Most of all, he enjoyed being with his family. He was a 32nd degree Scottish Rite Freemason and a member of the Elks Lodge. Dwight lived his life to the end with dignity, courage, strength and grace. Services will be held on December 24, 2002 at 10:00 a.m. at French Mortuary � Wyoming Blvd. Chapel, 7121 Wyoming Blvd NE with Chaplain Barbara Gatzweiler officiating. Digregorio -- Chris P. DiGregorio" Christina" passed away Tuesday, December 17, 2002. He was born November 17, 1954 in Gallup, NM. He was a graduate of Gallup High School and the University of New Mexico. He is survived by his son, Justin DiGregorio of Albuquerque; parents, Chris and Jennie Lee DiGregorio of Gallup, NM; sister, Beverly Peterson and husband, Dale; brothers, Michael DiGregorio and wife, Ami and Carmen DiGregorio and wife, Stephanie all of Albuquerque; nieces, Kristina Peterson, Jessica Peterson, Danielle DiGregorio and Nieka DiGregorio; nephews, Carl Peterson and Kian DiGregorio. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Donato and Carmela DiGregorio and maternal grandparents, Jay Kirlin and Lela and Lee Keith. He was employed at Mama's Minerals. From an early age, he was always interested in rocks and minerals. A gathering of his family and friends will be held to share memories Sunday, December 22, 2002 from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at 581 Summer Winds, Rio Rancho NM, 505-877-7527. Cremation has already taken place. At a later date, the ashes will be scattered on the top of his favorite mountain.

Gabel -- Harry Gabel, passed away on December 19, 2002. Harry was born in Berlin, Germany on November 28, 1922. Harry was a resident of Rio Rancho, NM coming from Milwaukee, WI in 1974. Prior to retirement he was a toolmaker and devoted over 40 years to his craft. He was a youth soccer coach for over 30 years in both Rio Rancho, NM and Milwaukee, WI. Harry enjoyed painting, stamp collecting and reading. He touched many lives and will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him. Harry is survived by his beloved wife of 53 years, Anneliese Gabel; son, Norbert Gabel and wife, Natalie; daughter-in-law, Marlane Gabel-Barton and husband, Roger; grandchildren, Danny Gabel and wife, Kelly, Stephanie Gabel, Brian Gabel; and a host of very special friends. Jones -- Jane Palmer died peacefully on December 16, 2002 at her home in Paonia, CO. Jane will be remembered as a mother, teacher, artist, mentor and world traveller. Jane was the mother of five: Leslie Christopher, Philip (Susan) Munoz, Stephen (Kyra) Munoz, Heather (Rachel King) Jones and Laurel Jones; grandmother of six: Mickey, Alex, Ryan, Miranda, Ivan and Damian; and friend to Karen, Ramya, Linda, Terry, Cougar, Fred and Giandavid. As a bilingual and English-as-a-second-language teacher, Jane had a strong positive influence on many young people. In over three decades of teaching she developed lasting relationships with students in Arizona, New Mexico and China. Born December 7, 1932 in New London, Ohio to Omer and Ruth Rich, Jane received her B.A. (French) and M.A. (Spanish language and literature) from the University of Arizona. Jane was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Doug. Jane's spirit and energy will be greatly missed. Kleinhenz -- Francis A. Kleinhenz, age 77, an Albuquerque resident since 1968 died at his home on Wednesday, December 18, 2002. Survivors include his beloved wife of 56 years, Norma L. nee Six; children, Barbara A. and husband, Paul Dillon, Mark A. and wife, Charlene Kleinhenz, Clareen F. and husband, Rudy Gomez, Carol M. Murray, Timothy M. Kleinhenz, Gregory J. Kleinhenz, Stephen G. and wife, Tomasina Kleinhenz; he was a proud grandfather of 20 and great-grandfather of five. Francis was a U.S. Army Air Force Veteran serving in WWII and will be remembered for his professional career as President of the University of Albuquerque and as Chief Administrative Officer for the City of Albuquerque. His education includes a Bachelor of Arts Degree (Magna Cum Laude), John Carroll University, Ohio; Masters in History and Education John Carroll University, Ohio; Doctoral Studies in Political Science and Education, Case Western University. Awards and Honors include: Honorary Degree Doctor of Humanities, College of Santa Fe; New Mexico Distinguished Public Service award; New Mexico Regional Medical Program; John J. Mc Cloy Fellowship; Honorary Degree Doctor of Laws, University of Albuquerque; American Society for Public Administrations Distinguished Public Administrators award; Honorary member the Rio Grande Lions Club and Senior Foundation Hall of Fame inductee. Lackey -- Billy D. Lackey, 66, a longtime resident of Albuquerque, passed away Thursday, December 19, 2002, after an inspiring, long fought battle with leukemia. He is survived by his wife, Beverly; his children, Ann Chao and husband, Leslie, Scott Lackey, and Kay O�Neill and husband Joseph; his grandchildren, Alexander and Garrett Chao, and Joseph O�Neill; his sisters, Bobbie Jean Wilson of Lubbock, TX and Kay Orrell and husband, Jim of Arroyo Grande, CA; his brothers, Wesley Lackey and wife, Janie of Anson, TX and Douglas Lackey and wife, Debbie of Austin, TX; and many nieces, nephews and wonderful friends. Billy was born in Borger, Texas on April 20, 1936, to Major and Ruth Lackey. He graduated from Spearman Texas High School and North Texas State University, and then served in the Navy. Bill moved to Albuquerque and worked as an accountant. He started his career with a firm then known as Peat, Marwick and Mitchell, and later became the controller at Public Service Company of New Mexico. Bill chose to volunteer as the Treasurer for numerous non-profit organizations, including Central United Methodist Church and its Foundation, Habitat for Humanity, El Buen Samaritano Day Care Center, and the Girl Scouts of America. He was an active member of Central United Methodist Church (including the Partnership Class) and the Sandia Kiwanis Club. Bill was an avid sports fan who enjoyed Lobo football and basketball, the Boston Red Sox and the Dallas Cowboys. He will be remembered as a tremendously loyal husband, father, friend and fan, who generously shared with others his talents and time, and as a man who led his life with the utmost integrity. Macwilliams -- Jane C. MacWilliams, a resident of La Vida Llena Retirement Community in Albuquerque since 1991, died November 21, 2002. She was born in Austin, TX on May 16, 1917. She was in Military Service during WWII from 1943-45 with the 169th WAC Detachment, 9th Air Force, in the European Theater of Operations. Following WWII, Jane served in the Personal Trust Department of First National Bank of Dallas, TX for 31 years. Jane is survived by her sister, Elizabeth MacWilliams Deinken and husband, Herman of Albuquerque; sisters-in-law, Jeanne Kenney MacWilliams of Williamstown, MA and Nancy Cowan MacWilliams of Bozeman, MT; four foster children, 14 nieces and nephews; and 35 great nieces and nephews. Mccleary -- Joel Crandall Peterson, 61, former Clifton, Idaho resident, died Wednesday, Dec. 18, 2002, at the Evergreen Nursing Home in Olympia, Washington, of an extended illness. He was semi-retired at the time of his death. He was born August 22, 1941, in Logan, Utah, the son of S. Joel and Constance Webb Peterson. He spent his youth growing up on the farm in Clifton, Idaho. He was active in sports all his life and passed away talking of the great times on the golf course wearing his Seattle Mariners shirt. He was an executive of Blue Cross of New Mexico for much of his adult life and was working with his brother in business in McCleary, Washington, when he became ill and subsequently passed away. He is survived by his daughter, Chrys Peterson, Sylvania, Ohio; his son, Corey Peterson, Alexandria, Virginia; a brother, Webb Peterson, McCleary, Washington; a sister, Carolyn Boyle, Las Vegas, Nevada; and by a granddaughter. He was preceded in death by his parents. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 28, 2002, at 2:00 p.m. at Webb Funeral Home, 109 E. Oneida, Preston, Idaho. Mccullough -- Eugene McCullough, 69, a resident of Albuquerque, died Saturday, December 21, 2002. He is survived by his wife, of 34 years Sharon McCullough of Albuquerque; sons, Doug McCullough of Phoenix, AZ and Mark McCullough and wife, Regina of Albuquerque; daughter, Kathy McCullough of Tucson, Arizona; step-daughter, Shelley Kearns of Albuquerque; grandchildren, Tyler and Ryan McCullough of Albuquerque; sister, Merriam Harris of Georgia; brother, Richard McCullough of Florida; mother-in-law, Eunice McKinney of Albuquerque; uncle, John Whiteman and wife, Sybl of Albuquerque; and numerous nephews and nieces. Eugene joined McKinney Motor Co. at the age of 19, working for Bill McKinney until his death in 1967. He then continued working for McKinney Motor Co. as manager for the next 42 years working along with Eunice McKinney. Eugene loved deep sea fishing in Mexico and family outings at Ute Lake where he enjoyed water skiing, fishing, and throwing the ball for his dog, Dusty. Minetos -- Minetos, Priscilla A., age 77. �The Best Mommy Ever, she will be dearly missed.� She was received by the Lord Wednesday evening, December 18, 2002, as she peacefully passed away at home, surrounded by her family and all of her grandchildren. Mrs. Minetos dedicated her life to the happiness of her children and grandchildren. She was born in Kansas City, KS and raised in Denver, CO. She resided in Albuquerque most of her life. Mrs. Minetos is survived by her son, Nick Minetos and wife, Elizabeth; three granddaughters, Sophia, Christina, and Aleksia, all of Albuquerque; grandson, Jim Falbe of Waco, TX; and sister, Anna Rose Main of Medford, OR. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry Minetos; and daughters, Elaine Minetos-Falbe and Dina Minetos. Over the years, Mrs. Minetos and her husband owned and operated many restaurants throughout New Mexico, in various locations such as Santa Fe, Gallup, Carlsbad, and Albuquerque. She continued to work as a cook at Sandia Casino until about one month before her passing. She was an Olympic Caliber swimmer in her youth with numerous awards and trophies. Mrs. Minetos was a former"Miss Colorado" beauty pageant winner. She still enjoyed watching pageants on television, as well as"The Bold and the Beautiful" soap opera, and"Larry King Live." Although not �born Greek, she loved the Greek culture, cuisine, language, music, etc. She loved to shop, and buy toys and clothes, for her grandchildren, to excess. She will be terribly missed. Lackey, 66, a longtime resident of Albuquerque, passed away Thursday, December 19, 2002, after an inspiring, long fought battle with leukemia. He started his career with a firm then known as Peat, Marwick and Mitchell, and later became the controller at Public Service Company of New Mexico. Bill chose to volunteer as the Treasurer for numerous non-profit organizations, including Central United Methodist Church and its Foundation, Habitat for Humanity, El Buen Samaritano Day Care Center, and the Girl Scouts of America. He was an active member of Central United Methodist Church (including the Partnership Class) and the Sandia Kiwanis Club. Bill was an avid sports fan who enjoyed Lobo football and basketball, the Boston Red Sox and the Dallas Cowboys. Susan and Peter lived in Corrales for over 30 years. They are survived by their twin daughters, Molly and Mandy Stern; and son-in-law, Jay Mandel. Dr. Stern was an accomplished orthopedic surgeon of more than 30 years standing and, more recently, had formed a consulting company to perform independent medical evaluations. Susan Stern, known professionally as Susan Glodt Stern shared her profound love and deep knowledge of writing with students who attended one of her writing seminars. She was extremely well read-knowledgeable not just about how to write solid fiction, but also about famous and influential works of literature. She was a prize-winning local journalist before pursuing a career in writing her own fiction and teaching others. Together, Susan and Peter shared a deep love for string instruments, and classical music. They befriended many professional musicians and artists from all over the world. They were devoted patrons of the New Mexico Symphony, the June Music Festival, and other local music and arts organizations. Peter enjoyed studying the violin and Susan, the viola. They were known for their weekend chamber music gatherings at their home.
