Jaramillo -- Margarito M. Jaramillo, 83, a lifelong resident of Belen, peacefully passed away while surrounded by his loving family on Thursday, September 13, 2001. Margarito was born to Melcor and Magdalena Jaramillo on May 25, 1918 in Tome, New Mexico. He was a member of Our Lady of Belen Catholic Church, Padre Pio Group, Sacred Heart League, and a long time member of Our Lady of Belen Spanish Choir. He was also a devoted member to the Belen Knights of Columbus, Post #2673. Margarito retired from General Electric Air Craft Division after 23 years of outstanding service. He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Rafael, Rosendo, and Nestor. He is survived by his beloved wife of 63 years, Ramona of the family home; six children, Nila Baker and her husband, Leonard of Rio Rancho, NM, Toby and wife, Ermie of Socorro, NM, Dina Paulik and her husband, Jim of Dallas, TX, Ruben and wife, Becky of Belen, Steve and wife, Dinah of Los Chavez, Andrew and wife, Connie of Belen; and 19 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Eufelia Jaramillo of Belen, and Erlinda Aragon and her husband, Joe of Los Lunas; and two very special cousins, Paul Moya and his wife, Mary Joe of Belen, and Jack Moya and his wife, Lee of Paradise Hills. Margarito is also survived by his many loving nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. A Viewing for family and friends will be held on Sunday, 5:30 p.m. at Our Lady of Belen Catholic Church with a Rosary following at 6:00 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday, 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Belen with Interment in the Parish Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Toby Michael, Aaron, Kevin, Joseph, Matthew, and Ned Jaramillo; Daniel Sanchez, and Joseph Moya. Honary Pallbearers will be Paul and Jack Moya. Romero Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
