Kirkpatrick -- Julia Irene Kirkpatrick, 76, a resident of Albuquerque, died Sunday, December 31, 2000. She is survived by her daughters, Kaye Thompson and husband, Mike of Albuquerque, NM, Sharon Gelnett and husband, Dave of Dallas, TX, Julie Miller and husband, Steve of Albuquerque, NM, Joy Marvin and husband, Bob of Reno, NV; grandchildren, Zach Gelnett and fiance, Jorie Pava and Marc Gelnett of Dallas, TX, Ellyn Thompson, Patrick Thompson, Kelly Julia Miller, Tommy Miller all of Albuquerque, NM, Darcy Irene Marvin, Nolan Marvin and Rainey Marvin of Reno, NV; brother, Les Juden of Lake Jackson, Tx and numerous nieces and nephews. Irene was preceded in death by her husband, Kelly Kirkpatrick in 1974 and two infant sons. She was born in Cape Girardeau County, MO and graduated from high school there. During World War II she worked for an airplane manufacturer in Ft. Worth. returning to Missouri after the war she married Kelly Kirkpatrick in 1946. They moved to New Mexico in 1957. After Kelly's death in 1974, she attended UNM and received her degree in English. Irene then went to work for Tuesday Morning and was manager for many years. Her work and friends at Tuesday Morning were very important to her. After retirement, she looked forward to her outings with the "Tuesday Morning Ladies." Irene loved her grandchildren very much and enjoyed spending time with them. She was a founding member of Christ the Ray of Hope Lutheran Church. Irene always looked on the bright side of things and was an encouragement to those her life touched. Services will be held Friday, January 5, 2001, 1:00 p.m. at Christ the Ray of Hope Lutheran Church, 7001 San Antonio Dr. NE, with Pastor Harold Johnson officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park, 924 menaul NE. Pallbearers will be sons-in-law and grandsons. Friends may visit, Thursday, January 4, 2001, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at French Mortuary, 10500 Lomas Blvd. NE.
