Sloane; son, Ralph Sloane, Jr and wife, Terry and their children, Marie, Jean, and Frank, all of Farmington, son, Andrew Sloane and wife, Beth and their children, Jennifer, Rebecca, and Emily of Mechanicsville, VA; and daughter, D'Elaine Sloane Patrick and husband, Mike and their daughters, Allison, Michelle, and Elise of San Luis Obispo. CA. Elaine was a native of Baton Rouge, LA. She attended Louisiana State University (LSU) where she majored in voice for two years and graduated with a double major in history and physical education. While in college, she was a member of the Delta Zeta Sorority and last year received their highest honor, The Rose, for her 50 years of dedication. She was also captain of the LSU swim team while on a scholarship there. In February of 1946, she met returning veteran, Ralph G. Sloane at LSU. She held this position for 20 years, retiring in 1983. During this time, she and Ralph were blessed with another son, Andrew, and a daughter, DťElaine. To all who knew her, she was always an energetic woman. She loved to sing in the church choir, garden, travel and support AAUW. Some of her fondest memories were of the beauty and colors surrounding the family cabin near the Brazos River in northern New Mexico.
