Henderlight -- Louise Henderlight Davis, 84, passed away in the home of her daughter, on July 15, 2001. She was born February 18, 1917 in Knoxville, TN to Robert Harris Henderlight and Vera Maude Pruett. She graduated Valedictorian from Young High School Knoxville in 1935. After World War II, Louise took a bus tour and visited Albuquerque. She liked the city and decided to take up residence here. From December 1951 to August 1952, Louise worked settling refuges from communist China in southern NM for Church World Services. In 1954, she married Clifford H. Davis. She worked as a secretary and bookkeeper for K.L. House Construction and UNM. She volunteered in PTA, and Church World United. She was a member of St. John's Episcopal Cathedral for 35 years. Louise enjoyed needlepoint and helped needlepoint the communion and alter kneeling cushions at St. Johns. She was involved in the church operated Thrift Shop.,Alter Guild, taught Sunday School and helped organize a food pantry for families in need. Survivors include a daughter, Evelyn Rogers and son-in-law, Jon; granddaughters, Michelle, Jennifer, and Jerah; one brother, James (Bud) Henderlight of Albuquerque; and a step-brother, Walter Ogle of North Carolina; aunt, Virginia Sayne and cousins, Vera Whaley of Knoxville and Bill Pruett of Virginia. Services will be at Fitzgerald and Sons on Wednesday, July 18, at 10:30 a.m. with family visitation to follow. Interment will be in the National Cemetery, Santa Fe. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to NM Girls Ranch or Casa Esparanza. Fitzgerald & Son Funeral Directors, 3113 Carlisle NE, are in charge of arrangements.
